Winter Village, Bryant Park
The holidays are quickly approaching and we have your guide for some early happenings this month on Long Island and NYC to help you get into the spirit!

Long Beach’s 11th annual turkey trot will take place on Sunday, November 22, 2015. There will be two races: one for children under the age of 17 at 8:30 am and the 10K race for all ages at 9:00 am. Both races start and finish on New York Avenue and the boardwalk. Be sure to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit those in the community in need!

Would Thanksgiving really be Thanksgiving without the Macy’s parade? The balloons have already been tested and they are ready to fly! For the past 89 years, the parade never fails to disappoint us with giant balloons, floats, cheerleaders, clowns, marching bands, and performances.

Bryant Park’s winter village opened last week and is a must see this season! With more than 125 boutiques housed in custom-designed “jewelry box” kiosks and a 170’ x 100’ rink featuring free admission ice skating,  the park really transforms into a winter wonderland. Celsius is also apart of the action by serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks everyday.

Starting in the middle of November, many stores on Fifth Avenue create their famous holiday windows. Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Macy’s and more will be showing off this thrilling artistry for free each day and night. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes while you wait - but the line is worth it!

The Holiday Lights Spectacular at Jones Beach returns November 20th with over 2.5 miles of holiday scenes featuring 150 light displays. The Holiday Village will also make its return, so bring the kids and take photos with Santa, enjoy a make your own s’mores station, watch some live performances, and more!

The Rockettes are kicking off their holiday season November 13th! In its 88th year of precision dancing and high kicking, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has become an annual tradition for many tourists and locals alike.

Yes, it’s already that time of year - the holiday season is upon us. As usual, Long Island has a plethora of things in store:

Jones Beach Holiday Lights Spectacular- Returning after going dark for seven years due to budget cuts, the Jones Beach Holiday Lights Spectacular is BACK! Starting November 20th, people can drive through 2.5 miles of lighting attractions, enjoy a Holiday Village with local school choir performance, holiday music, and refreshments, a Hay Maze, and photos with Santa. Hours are nightfall to 10pm Monday-Thursday, and nightfall to 11pm Friday-Sunday. Admission is $20 per vehicle and $25 on weekends.

Holiday STYLE Festival and Tree Lighting - FREE to the public, the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park invites the community to attend their annual Holiday STYLE Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 22nd from 3-6pm. The day will consist of music and ice skating performances, along with a special concert with Jesse McCartney and a tree lighting with the help of the Rockettes. Ice rink opens to the public at 6:30pm!

28th Annual The Nutcracker Ballet - This holiday classic adds a narrated score to make it perfect for even the youngest of audience members. A cast of professionals from across the USA are joined by aspiring young dancers from Long Island and NYC. Long Island Ballet Theatre (LIBT) is proud to be presenting its 14th season at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater at Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington. Tickets are available November 29th and November 30th showings. For more information, visit LIBT’s website here »

Long Island Christmas Tree - This year’s Christmas Tree on display at the Rex Corp. Plaza Skating Rink in Uniondale will feature for the first time, a tree from Long Island! This year’s tree, weighing in at 10,000 pounds, is a 70 foot tall Norway spruce from Smithtown. According to an RXR spokesperson, while there won’t be any televised coverage of the tree lighting like in past years, the event is scheduled to take place on the first Saturday in December, during nightfall.
