Holiday Travel Do's and Don'ts

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
Tomorrow is the first day of November, and that means Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, followed by the December holidays. But before you can see friends, family, and of course - eat lots of great food - you just need to get there.

If you plan on traveling this season, make sure to first check out a few of our travel do’s and don’ts for the holidays.

Do know when to travel. Sometimes it’s inevitable, but if you can, avoid traveling at peak times. Holiday weekends tend to be the most crowded, while the actual holiday is usually pretty clear. If you’re planning a road trip, look up if and when you’ll be hitting major cities and try to avoid them during rush hour. If you plan to fly, aim to leave early in the morning or late at night, to avoid getting stuck in traffic on the way to the airport.

Don’t wait to book. Transportation around the holiday’s can get expensive. The best way to save money is to book your rental car, train ticket or flight as early as possible. Last minute blowout deals or standby flights can be tempting but may just leave you more stressed than relieved if something goes wrong.

Do look up TSA’s rules. No one wants to be the person sitting on the airport floor riffling through their luggage - so before you pack, take a quick look at the TSA’s list of prohibited items.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. As frustrating as small hiccups may be (i.e.: needing to go buy things you forgot to pack), remember that these little inconveniences are going to be the things you look back and laugh at.

Do arrive early. Plan for traffic, bathroom breaks and security lines by leaving early. The TSA suggests arriving 2 hours before any domestic flight - or, save yourself time and stress by applying for TSA’s PreCheck service. Last year, more than 97% of precheck customers spent just 5 minutes on the security line.

And for a bonus - DO book your airpor
t transportation with Dynasty Limousine. We handle pick ups and drop offs at all major New York Airports including LaGuardia, JFK, MacArthur as well as most private airports like Farmingdale Executive Airport. Call and request a quote today: 631-587-8500!

Wine 101: Wine Body Guide

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
“I want something dry, but not too dry.” Ordering wine tends to sound a lot like this - but, it doesn’t have to.

Correctly ordering a specific type of wine all starts with understanding the different wine styles. So before your next wine tour with Dynasty Limousine, we thought we’d help break down some of the most common white and red wines for you.

Full-Bodied Red Wines
Full bodied red wines have more tannin - a bitter-tasting substance, higher alcohol, and dark fruit flavors like black currant. These wines pair perfectly with bold-flavored foods such as barbeque, Mexican food, and various red meats. Examples: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec.

Medium-Bodied Red Wines
In between full and light, medium red wines are known as the best “food-friendly” wines. Due to regional differences, the wines in this category will vary in tannin, acidity and red fruit which in turn will create many different flavors. Medium-bodied red wines pair well with spiced and roasted meats, hearty vegetables, and strong flavored spices - cinnamon, fennel, and cumin. Examples: Zinfandel, Merlot, Barbera.

Light-Bodied Red Wines
Wines in this category are much lower in alcohol - perfect for people who don’t want to actually feel like they’re drinking wine. They also have very subtle flavors including a lighter tannin and brighter acidity. These wines pair well with risotto based dishes, chicken and other poultry. Examples: Pinot Noir, Lambrusco, Gamay.

Light-Bodied White Wine
Words like, dry, crisp, and tart are all associated with light-bodied white wines. They are usually best enjoyed within a year or two of the vintage so you can fully enjoy the fruity flavors and high acidity. Light-bodied white wines are best paired with seafood, sushi, salads, chicken, and other poultry. Examples: Albariño, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio.

Rosé Wines
The mid-point between red and white wine, these wines are dry and typically served chilled. Rosé wines are most frequently produced in the south of France, the Spanish eastern coast, and in Italy. Rosé pairs well with fried chicken, roast pork, Mexican food, and Green and Turkish cuisine. Examples: Grenache Rosé, Syrah Rosé, Tempranillo Rosé.

And there you have it! While you may not become a wine sommelier overnight - at least you are well on your way. With all the vineyards and wineries that Long Island has to offer let Dynasty Limousine help create the perfect wine tour that fits your wine style and palette! Best Places to Visit in Bermuda

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

At just 22 miles long and 1 mile wide, the only place Bermuda doesn’t fall short is on it’s extensive list of world renowned beaches, restaurants and tourist attractions. Thanks to its pink sandy beaches and caribbean like atmosphere, Bermuda has become a top vacation destination. Thinking of booking a trip to the British Territory? Here are some of the top rated attractions you won't want to miss.

Horseshoe Bay Beach
Ranked #8 in the world according to tripadvisor’s top beaches, Horseshoe bay is Bermuda’s most famous beach and a hot spot for tourists and families. With more than a mile of pink sand and clear blue ocean to explore, visitors can rent snorkel gear, paddleboards and canoes straight from the beach shack!

The Swizzle Inn Pub and Restaurant
On your way across the island, stop by Bermuda’s oldest pub for one of their famous rum swizzle drinks. With rum, fruit juice and a hint of lemon, it’s been known to leave even the locals feeling tipsy. While you’re there enjoying a cocktail, leave your mark by carving your name into the table or writing it on the walls. Seriously - guests are encouraged to draw on the walls or wedge their business card into the ceiling and hopefully find it again years later!

As one of the few areas with two car lanes, the capital of Bermuda is the busiest and most energetic place on the island. With brightly colored buildings lining the roads and cruise ships along the sea, it’s no surprise Hamilton is the top rated destination for all things shopping and entertainment.

St. Peter’s Church
Traveling with any history buffs? Don’t miss out on exploring St. Peter’s Church! After completion in 1612, it remains the oldest church still in use in the entire Western Hemisphere. With it’s iconic 17th century design, St. Peter’s stands out among a backdrop of more modern houses and businesses. After attending an early morning service, spend the day exploring the burial sites of some of Bermuda’s most famous clergy, politicians and civilians just steps away from the church door.

Crystal and Fantasy Caves
One of Bermuda’s most awe inspiring locations might not even be on the island, but under it! Skip the beaches and sunsets for a truly once in a life time experience traveling through crystal clear water just feet below thousands of chandelier clusters of crystal.

Start your vacation the moment you step out of the door by letting Dynasty Limousine take care of your airport transportation. We handle pick ups and drop offs at all major New York Airports including LaGuardia, JFK, MacArthur as well as most private airports like Farmingdale Executive Airport. #TravelThursday - Winter Vacations for 2016

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
79 days to go until the New Year and if you’re one of the 55% of workers that still have vacation days left to use, we’ve got you covered.

Whether you want to lounge on a beach or hit the slopes (or stay bundled in the lodge - we don’t blame you), here are some of the best cold and warm weather winter getaways:

Cape Town, South Africa:
December to March marks the best time to visit Cape Town thanks to the season’s best weather conditions, smaller crowd, and low prices. Want to indulge in some fun nightlife? Take a stroll on Long Street and visit bars like Julep, the Waiting Room, and Neighbourhood; all providing their own unique partying vibes for visitors and locals alike. Or spend your time hanging out with some penguins on the coast and exploring the lush environs of the Cape Peninsula.

French Polynesia:
French Polynesia consists of five diverse archipelagos that have a surface area larger than the European continent. From 118 islands to choose from, such as Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, and Huahine, French Polynesia is a once in a lifetime trip for all to enjoy. Our winter is the most inexpensive time to travel to this location because it’s their rainy season - but don’t worry, there is still plenty of sunshine to go around. Come face-to-face with crystal clear lagoons, mountains, and yes, over-water bungalows - just like you pinned on your travel Pinterest board.

Swedish Lapland:
For those of you that prefer the cold - Swedish Lapland is the place to be. Each winter the original ICEHOTEL is reborn! So spend a night in a 23 degree Fahrenheit room, in a hotel created with nearly 10 million gallons of snow and ice. If you’re lucky you’ll also catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights and if you can’t bear the cold any longer, there is a heated complex next door - or a toasty luxury suite awaiting you in the permanent ICEHOTEL 365 set to open November 10th!
Jackson Hole, Wyoming:
Looking for a winter getaway without traveling too far? Try Jackson Hole, Wyoming, located in the North West of the U.S. This location provides visitors with plenty of slopes, perfect for skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and even heli-skiing. Visit during the holiday season and you’ll be showered with fireworks while on your ski runs. Venture outside of town to the Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone National Park to experience fields of grazing bison and elk.

Now that you’re putting your remaining vacation days to use, it’s time to book your trip, your flight, and arrange your airport transportation with Dynasty Limousine! We handle pick ups and drop offs at all major New York Airports including LaGuardia, JFK, MacArthur as well as most private airports like Farmingdale Executive Airport. Vote for Dynasty Limousine as Best Wedding Transportation on LI!

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
We’re proud to announce we’ve been nominated for Best Wedding Transportation in this year’s Bethpage Best of Long Island Competition!

As the ideal choice for brides and grooms in and around the Long Island area - we make it our mission to combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers. Just take a look at what some of our recent brides had to say:

"Thank you Charlie, Sal and staff for helping to make our wedding extra fabulous with both shuttle and limo transportation. Professional, top quality service within our wedding budget. Keep up the good work!"
"We just had our son's wedding in May, I contacted Dynasty to arrange pickup of my guests from the Hotel to the hall. Although they did have a small problem with the original bus' air conditioning, they swapped out the bus, and gave us the bigger one at no extra charge. They were still on time for pickup so we weren't even aware of any problem. Everything was seamless with them. The driver was extremely nice and professional and the ride was nice and smooth. I'm very happy that they went above and beyond."

"Thank you got making our wedding weekend so wonderful. Your staff was so professional, courteous, and helpful. Tom and Joe were a tremendous help. On one of the busiest travel weekends of the year (Memorial Day) they arrived early. Your company is so reliable. This was an important weekend for my husband and I, so thank you for providing outstanding service."

We want to take this opportunity to thank those who have nominated us and for continuing to choose Dynasty Limousine for all wedding transportation! But now we need your help - to WIN! Voting is open through December 15th and voters are able to vote once per day, per category. Start casting your votes for Dynasty Limo by visiting Bethpage’s Best of LI website here, clicking on Weddings, and scrolling down to Wedding Transportation. Thanks again for your continued support!
