Underrated Long Island Towns to Visit

Sure, New York City is great, but sometimes you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all. Especially during the warm weather — it’s a scorcher out there these days, am I right? Escape the crowd and plan a weekend getaway to one of these underrated but awesome Long Island towns.

Shelter Island

This small island is situated between the north and south forks of Long Island. Shelter Island is home to unforgettable scenic beauty, gorgeous beaches, rolling farmland, and great places to stay.

While you’re there: Make time to visit the historic Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. Here you’ll be able to learn about food, culture, and history.

Mattituck

Most Long Islanders breeze right by the Town of Mattituck on the way to Greenport, but next time you’re planning a trip to the East End, we highly recommend this pretty little town in the heart of Wine Country.

While you’re there: Plan a trip to Love Lane. This charming street is home to some of our favorite shops. While you wait for a table at the delicious Love Lane Kitchen, indulge in some wine from the Roanoke Vineyards Wine Bar and cheese from The Village Cheese Shop.

Riverhead

When you think of Riverhead, you probably think of the Tanger Outlets, but there’s so much more to do here than just shopping. There’s something to do for children and adults of all ages!

While you’re there: Book an East End Bike Tour and visit the Martha Clara Vineyards. Not into biking? Book a ticket on the Long Island Aquarium’s Tour Boat Adventure instead.

Once you’ve planned your trip, let Dynasty Limousine get you there! Our fleet can accommodate groups of all sizes. We even offer competitive Wine Tour Packages. For more information and to make a reservation, contact us at 631-587-8500.

Quick Summer Getaways

It’s almost summertime and the living's easy! The only thing to worry about is where you’re going to get away to. How will you choose the perfect summer vacation spot? Dynasty Limousine is here to share our favorite travel destinations.

Bermuda

Bermuda is one of the wealthiest isles on earth. This tropical land is made up of pink sand beaches, pastel cottages, coral walls, and friendly locals. Just a two-hour flight from JFK, airfare is extremely affordable. Pro Tip: Be sure to order the island’s signature cocktail — the Rum Swizzle!

Bahama

The Bahamas is home to over 2,000 gorgeous islands and cays, as well as some of the world’s greatest beaches. Not only can you relax in the tropics, but you’ll have the opportunity to explore historic sites like the Queen’s Staircase and the ruins at Clifton Heritage Park. A flight from JFK to Nassau, Bahamas is about three hours.

Puerto Rico

Looking for an adrenaline rush? Puerto Rico offers exhilarating excursions like: rappelling from the Camuy Caves or hiking through the El Yunque rain forest. Get there in just 3.5 hours from New York. This American territory is safe and simple to travel to. Pro Tip: While a passport is not required for direct travel between the United States and Puerto Rico, it is recommended that travelers have a copy of their birth certificate in addition to their government-issued photo ID. Be aware that if you’re going to have a layover in a foreign port you WILL need to present a valid Passport or Green Card.

Montreal

Tropical islands not your cup of tea — why not head north? Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and visit Montreal, Canada’s countless bars, cafés, and restaurants. Plus, it’s only about a one hour flight from JFK.

Remember, wherever your summer travel plans may take you, Dynasty Limousine is here to handle all of your transportation needs. We’re available for pickups and drop-offs at all major New York airports including, JFK, LaGuardia, and MacArthur and for most private airports including Farmingdale Executive Airport. Spend Your Saturday at Smorgasburg

Memorial Day Weekend marks the official start of summer — that means, the days of outdoor restaurants, rooftop bars, and open-air food flea markets are upon us! A staple among New Yorkers and Long Islanders alike is Brooklyn's famous Smorgasburg. The food festival features almost 100 vendors that sell mind-blowingly delicious treats. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the vendors you’ve just GOT to try this weekend!

Baked Cheese Haus:
These Wisconsin cheese fiends have brought raclette to Brooklyn! Whats raclette you ask? A block of cheese is melted on a heated stand and then scraped onto Baked Cheese Haus' signature subs — toasted baguettes with cured ham, cornichons, and green onions.

Burrito Juarez:
These Juárez natives joined forces to serve the same Mexican burritos found in their hometown. — Spoiler Alert: They put Chipotle to shame. The wheat tortillas are made fresh to order and layered with your choice of fillings. Choose from refried beans, organic chicken or brisket, fresh chile sauce, and more.

Destination Dumplings:
Indulge in fresh and crispy pan-fried dumplings inspired by flavors from all over the world. Queens natives, Tristan Chin-Fatt and Andrew Steinberg, were influenced by their culturally diverse heritages — Chinese-Jamaican and African American-Jewish, respectively.

John’s Juice
Using a super fancy imported Japanese machine, John's Juice instantly blends juices inside their skins. The result is a delicious juice in a waste-free receptacle — did we mention they make for awesome Instagram pictures!?

A post shared by pop_pasta (@pop_pasta) on

Pop Pasta:
Two words: Spaghetti Donut — What more do you need to know? Similar to a traditional Italian spaghetti pie, strands of spaghetti are molded into donut form and baked until crispy and delicious. Choose from red sauce, aglio e olio, or carbonara style.

Strange Flavor Burger Shack:
Looking for a spicy twist? Strange Flavor Burger Shack infuses America's favorite dishes with heat! Some of our favorite menu items include the fried sesame pancake stuffed with spicy mayo brisket and cucumber salad covered in chili oil.

Ready to chow down? Skip the train delays and pricey cab rides. Dynasty Limousine has got you covered! Contact us at 631-587-8500 to reserve your ride today!
