Spend Your Saturday at Smorgasburg

Memorial Day Weekend marks the official start of summer — that means, the days of outdoor restaurants, rooftop bars, and open-air food flea markets are upon us! A staple among New Yorkers and Long Islanders alike is Brooklyn's famous Smorgasburg. The food festival features almost 100 vendors that sell mind-blowingly delicious treats. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the vendors you’ve just GOT to try this weekend!

Baked Cheese Haus:
These Wisconsin cheese fiends have brought raclette to Brooklyn! Whats raclette you ask? A block of cheese is melted on a heated stand and then scraped onto Baked Cheese Haus' signature subs — toasted baguettes with cured ham, cornichons, and green onions.

Burrito Juarez:
These Juárez natives joined forces to serve the same Mexican burritos found in their hometown. — Spoiler Alert: They put Chipotle to shame. The wheat tortillas are made fresh to order and layered with your choice of fillings. Choose from refried beans, organic chicken or brisket, fresh chile sauce, and more.

Destination Dumplings:
Indulge in fresh and crispy pan-fried dumplings inspired by flavors from all over the world. Queens natives, Tristan Chin-Fatt and Andrew Steinberg, were influenced by their culturally diverse heritages — Chinese-Jamaican and African American-Jewish, respectively.

John’s Juice
Using a super fancy imported Japanese machine, John's Juice instantly blends juices inside their skins. The result is a delicious juice in a waste-free receptacle — did we mention they make for awesome Instagram pictures!?

Pop Pasta:
Two words: Spaghetti Donut — What more do you need to know? Similar to a traditional Italian spaghetti pie, strands of spaghetti are molded into donut form and baked until crispy and delicious. Choose from red sauce, aglio e olio, or carbonara style.

Strange Flavor Burger Shack:
Looking for a spicy twist? Strange Flavor Burger Shack infuses America's favorite dishes with heat! Some of our favorite menu items include the fried sesame pancake stuffed with spicy mayo brisket and cucumber salad covered in chili oil.

Warning: Do not attempt to read this blog on an empty stomach - seriously, don’t. Smorgasburg is back outdoors and it’s better, and more delicious, than ever! To meet the demands of die-hard foodies, the artisanal festival can be found on Saturdays in it’s original location of Williamsburg and newly set up shop on Sundays in Prospect Park.

Whether you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth or want to indulge in some Asian street food, these vendors are worth lining up for:

  1. Big Mozz:  This is for every cheese lover out there! The secret behind the Big Mozz is hand stretched cheese, resulting in some of the most amazing fried mozzarella sticks and pizzas known to man.
  2. BrunchStreet: Put a new spin on your breakfast classics with BrunchStreet’s brunch-on-a -stick. Caramelized french toast and sausage skewers are among fan favorites, as are the quail eggs on a stick, a traditional Chinese breakfast.
  3. Wowfulls: The name says it all- wow!  This Hong Kong creation pairs egg based waffles with ice cream and toppings, resulting in the most beautiful and Instagram-worthy cone you’ve ever seen. Choose from three different combos including green tea ice cream and Oreo cookie crumb, perfect for those hot days ahead.
  4. Best Buds Burritos: As if a standard burrito isn’t delicious enough, these burritos incorporate all of the traditional ingredients we love, while adding a twist--french fries! The combination of this salty snack and mouth-watering meat will have anyone who tries it saying “Holy Guacamole!”
  5. Fedoroff’s South Philly Cheesesteaks: No outdoor food festival would be complete without a Philly cheesesteak. Staying true to his native roots of Philadelphia, Dave Fedoroff, who already runs the successful Fedoroff Roast Pork, tops off thinly sliced steak with creamy cheez whiz and onions.
