Underrated Long Island Towns to Visit

Sure, New York City is great, but sometimes you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of it all. Especially during the warm weather — it’s a scorcher out there these days, am I right? Escape the crowd and plan a weekend getaway to one of these underrated but awesome Long Island towns.

Shelter Island

This small island is situated between the north and south forks of Long Island. Shelter Island is home to unforgettable scenic beauty, gorgeous beaches, rolling farmland, and great places to stay.

While you’re there: Make time to visit the historic Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. Here you’ll be able to learn about food, culture, and history.

Mattituck

Most Long Islanders breeze right by the Town of Mattituck on the way to Greenport, but next time you’re planning a trip to the East End, we highly recommend this pretty little town in the heart of Wine Country.

While you’re there: Plan a trip to Love Lane. This charming street is home to some of our favorite shops. While you wait for a table at the delicious Love Lane Kitchen, indulge in some wine from the Roanoke Vineyards Wine Bar and cheese from The Village Cheese Shop.

Riverhead

When you think of Riverhead, you probably think of the Tanger Outlets, but there’s so much more to do here than just shopping. There’s something to do for children and adults of all ages!

While you’re there: Book an East End Bike Tour and visit the Martha Clara Vineyards. Not into biking? Book a ticket on the Long Island Aquarium’s Tour Boat Adventure instead.

Once you’ve planned your trip, let Dynasty Limousine get you there! Our fleet can accommodate groups of all sizes. We even offer competitive Wine Tour Packages. For more information and to make a reservation, contact us at 631-587-8500.
