Pick a Date - After all the "Congratulations!" and "Let me see the ring!" the next question your friends and family ask is, “When’s the wedding?” Save yourself a headache, decide on a vague yet specific answer with your fiancé like “We like the idea of next fall” or “We’re aiming for early 2015.” People will put the event in their mental datebooks and appreciate feeling like they’re in the know!

Budget, Budget, Budget - As intimidating as it is, figure out your wedding budget. A lot of bridal websites have great lists for reference so you can see the things you may not need. Once you have a budget set start looking at venues.

Choose a Venue - Choosing the venue will guide you in every other decision you make about your wedding (number of guests, food, decor, dress, etc). Book the location as soon as possible to insure you two get the date you want.

Daydream (a lot) - Now that your date, budget, and venue have been chosen it’s time for the more glamorous decisions. Grab a bunch of wedding mags, download the Pinterest app on every device, look at maps for honeymoon ideas - now’s the time to collect ideas that inspire you and to learn what you want (and don’t want) in your wedding!

The holidays are a big time of year for engagements! If you are newly engaged, planning on being engaged soon, or about to pop the question to your significant other, Glamour has great advice on what to do after you get the ring.

1. Tell everyone! Call your relatives and share the news with friends and family. No one wants to be         the last to know, so set aside some time and with the help of your mom, sister, aunt and anyone else       spread the word!

2. Get your ring sized right away so you can show off how perfect it is. It usually takes up to a few           hours, sometimes even a few days but you want it to look just right and it is worth the effort.

3. Have your ring insured. If you lose your ring you might not get the sentimental value back, you             could gain a little comfort by having some protection on it. Call the insurance broker to add your ring     to your renter’s insurance. If you don’t have renter’s insurance, it is inexpensive to buy.

4. Everyone is going to ask you what the wedding date is, so you and your fiancé should set a ballpark     date. This will help people plan around you and feel as if they are in the loop. It can also give you         and your fiancé a step in the right direction to plan the wedding.

5. Save some time for just you and your fiancé. Make it a point to leave any wedding plans out of it so       you can enjoy each other's company and relax. Planning a wedding could be a bit hectic so indulge       in a couple’s massage or set aside time to just hang out.

6. Be organized. Use an app, calendar or binder to manage all your wedding plans. Create a timeline of     tasks and events that need to be done by a certain time. It is also a good idea to create a savings               account specifically for your wedding. The two of you can put a set amount of money to save up for     the wedding so you won’t end up in massive debt after the festivities.
