5 Can’t Miss Food & Drink Events This Spring

What happens when you mix one part food, one part beverage, and one part Dynasty Limo? A seriously good time.

Calling all food and drink event enthusiasts — do we have a lineup for you! See below for five can't miss events in New York this spring!

1. Spice up your life at the Bloody Mary Festival.

If you’re tomato-and-vodka obsessed, look no further. VIP tickets are still available for this Sunday’s Bloody Mary Festival! For $84, VIPs will get a ONE HOUR jump on the crowd — being allowed in at 12p — as well as lunch and limited edition Bloody Mary socks. Taste some of the craftiest and most delicious Bloody Marys Brooklyn has to offer!

2. Get hot and bothered at the NYC Hot Sauce Expo.
Get ready for an incredible journey of all things spicy! The 5th Annual NYC Hot Sauce Expo will showcase the BEST Hot Sauce makers from around the globe. Meet makers from Australia, Canada, England, South America, New Zealand and of course, from our own backyard — the good ole US of A! Be sure to catch the 5th Annual Bloody Mary Mix-Down National Championship, Spicy Bagel of DOOM Challenge, and the Carolina Reaper Pepper Eating Contest! Tickets range from $10 - $100.

3. Go ham at the Bacon and Beer Classic.

Does sampling 100+ beers from regional breweries, eating 50+ bacon-infused dishes from local chefs, and partaking in bacon eating contests sound like an afternoon well spent? Then look no further. The Bacon and Beer Classic returns to Citi Field April 29 and 30 for three hours of unlimited bacon dishes, craft beer, live music, and games throughout the concourse — complimentary tasting glass included!

4. Take a shot at attending the Margarita Rumble.

Let’s get ready to rumble! Prep yourself for a grand ole fiesta, sampling the city’s best margaritas as you vote for who wins the title of Best Margarita in NYC. The Margarita Rumble kicks off at Dobbin St on Saturday April 29, where attendees can sample margs from 15 different restaurants during the two hour session. Tickets cost $45 for GA and $65 for VIP (45 minute early entry).

5. Keep your spirits up at the NY Cocktail Expo.

The Masters of Mixology come back to Long Island for round 2 of the NY Cocktail Expo. On May 7, head to Mulchay's in Wantagh for cocktail and spirit tastings from some of the best in the business. General Admission tickets are available for $60 for two different sessions: 1p - 3:30p or 4p - 6:30p.

Celebrating Mardi Gras on Long Island

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Music, parades, floats, costumes, beads — Mardi Gras is celebrated in grand fashion in New Orleans. Did you know, the first Mardi Gras parade in NOLA dates back to February 24, 1857? Free to attend, economic impact reports indicate that Mardi Gras generates over $1 billion in annual spending!

If you’re unable to book a last minute flight to The Greatest Free Show on Earth, don’t fret! There’s plenty of Fat Tuesday festivities happening right here on Long Island!

Big Daddy’s — Massapequa
It’s Mardi Gras Madness Week! From now until Fat Tuesday enjoy seven nights of live music and specials, from Live Crawfish Boils to a Classic New Orleans Style Buffet. In celebration of Fat Tuesday, doors will open from 11a — 4p for lunch with live music courtesy of Jack Morelli Trio. Looking for some nighttime shenanigans? Purchase tickets for their Classic New Orleans Style Buffet and live music from The Johnny Mac Band! Tickets cost $35 in advanced and costumes are highly recommended.

Storyville — Huntington
Head to Huntington for a true Louisiana experience! Enjoy a three course meal for $34.95 while listening to smooth blues, dirty, New Orleans tunes courtesy of Ed from Sweet-N-Low. There will also be half priced sazeracs, hurricanes and Abita beer at the bar only — bonus: Beads and masks will be distributed.

Get ready for some weekend-long Mardi Gras festivities at this authentic Louisiana southern BBQ restaurant, housed in a 40 person vintage railroad car diner. Specials include Alligator Ribs, Fresh Crawfish Boils, Cajun Fried Oysters and Mardi Gras King Cake!

Named for the French Quarter neighborhood where jazz was born, this intimate upscale music venue will open specially on Fat Tuesday to host a true Mardi Gras Celebration! Headlining this event is Dave Clive’s Newlines Funk Band! There will be beads and King Cake — need we say more?

A New York City Themed Sweet 16

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Looking to throw your teen an unforgettable sweet 16, but not sure what to do? Before you spend all of your time and money looking for a venue, finding a caterer, and shopping for a dress, may we offer an alternative? Instead of a three hour party, give your teen a truly unforgettable day traveling around New York City in style.

Do a group outing.

New York Skyride at the Empire State Building: With a 36 ft high screen and moving floor and chairs, this virtual tour of New York City is sure to leave even native New Yorkers in awe. Feel as if you’re flying over 36 famous New York spots, including famous moments in history, restaurants and film scenes.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum: Famous for their lifelike celebrity wax statues, the museum lets you get up close and take pictures with your favorite stars, like Leonardo Dicaprio, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Barack Obama and Beyonce.

Go out to dinner.

Barrio Chino: Any Gossip Girl fan’s out there? To some, Barrio Chino’s might just be a great place to get Mexican and Asian inspired food, but TV lovers may also rejoice at the fact that Serena and Blair's Thanksgiving dinner was filmed here on location.

Jeckyll and Hyde: Any teen with a sense of humor and love of horror movies will love the non stop attractions at Jeckyll and Hyde. With Frankenstein’s monster falling from the ceiling, a crude gargoyle and old fashioned butlers running around there’s no shortage of excitement here.

Ellen's Stardust Diner: Go back in time with the singing wait staff of Ellen’s Stardust Diner! Known for their 50s decor, vocal servers and seemingly never ending list of American classics, the Stardust Diner will get you out of your seat and ready to boogie.

The Sugar Factory: They may be celebrating their sweet 16, but they’re never too old to feel like a kid in a candy shop. The sugar factory truly lives up to it’s name, with everything from waffles covered in chocolate syrup and whipped cream, to milkshakes topped with whole cookies and candy bars. With locations in Times Square Row Hotel, The Meatpacking District, and the Upper West Side, you’ll always be just steps away from any and every sugary dessert you may want.

See a show.

Wicked: In 13 years on broadway, Wicked has become a fan favorite among teens. But luckily for you, this big budget production doesn’t come for a big cost - mezzanine tickets often go for as little as $40 a seat.

The Lion King: With a set and costumes that have been said to make you feel “like you’re on the plains of Africa,” you won’t want to miss this childhood favorite come to life on stage.

Madison Square Garden: Home to Z100’s upcoming Jingle Ball and popular stop for countless other singers and sports teams over the years, you’ll have no problem finding your child’s favorite performer or team playing at MSG.

Whether you plan to bring a small, intimate party or a larger group into the city to celebrate - Dynasty Limousine has a vehicle to meet your needs. We offer stretch limos and Cadillac Escalades as well as stylish, modern Party Buses. Your group will enjoy the convenience of traveling together and having the excitement begin when they leave the driveway. Our professional drivers will ensure your teens arrive to their destination safely and on time. For more information or to reserve a car, give us a call at 631-587-8500!
