Why You Should Book Shuttles for Your Wedding Guests

Excitement aside, it's not unusual for both local and out of town guests to stress over how they'll get to and from the ceremony and reception, especially if a drink or two is involved. Ensure they arrive on time, stress-free, by booking shuttle transportation with us! 

Here's some important things to keep in mind:
 
Consider where your ceremony and reception are.
Offering shuttles to help get guests to and from your wedding is a simple way to ensure everyone leaves the celebration and gets back to the hotel safely. Not to mention shuttles help your guests avoid the hassle of driving, parking, then driving again should you be having your ceremony and reception in two different venues. Plus, if parking is scarce, a shuttle service is a sigh of relief. 

Take the drive yourself.
While we’re on the two venue topic - you may want to consider taking the drive yourself. If you feel like you are schlepping across the world to get from your ceremony to your reception and back to the hotel - you may not want to sign off on anything just yet. Remember timing.  
Take the amount of guests you have staying at your hotel into consideration when coordinating the number of shuttles you book for the day. Those three buses will need at least seven trips to pick everyone up which can amount to a long wait for guests on the last bus. Start the shuttles early enough before the ceremony and plan for a longer cocktail hour to ensure all guests arrive on time!

So how do you make wedding day transportation as painless and efficient as possible? With these tips

Rent Larger Vehicles. Why? Larger vehicles can hold more people and holding more people means less trips to and from the wedding venue. Consider your party size and if your guests would benefit from a Shuttle or Limo Bus.
 
Plan for Things to Pass Time. If you can’t transport everyone in one Shuttle Bus, be sure to plan something for guests to do while they wait. Like having your cocktail hour start the moment the first guest arrives or having a photo booth attendant on hand to kick off the festivities. 

Add Some Buffer Time. While you may think you only need 45 minutes to transport your guests from your hotel to the ceremony, by scheduling some buffer time you’ll be well prepared for traffic or any stragglers. Every wedding - no matter the size - requires a great deal of preparation and planning. The venue, dress, guest list, flowers, etc.,  are pretty straight forward once you have a budget and plan in mind. But when it comes to the transportation, it’s not uncommon the be unsure of proper limo etiquette. Who rides in the wedding limo? How many do you need? What about out of town guests?

Truth is, there is no rule on how many limos you choose or who gets to ride in them - that decision falls on you and your fiancĂ©. But in case you’re looking for some kind of guide, we wanted to provide some tips to help the wedding planning process:

How many limos are needed:
This varies depending on your bridal party and your vision for the wedding. Some people choose to reserve three limos; one for the bride and bridesmaids, one for the groom and groomsmen, and one for the parents. Other times a small town car is reserved for the bride and her father, a limo is reserved to pick up the groom and parents and drop them at the ceremony - then go out to pick up the bridesmaids, leaving the groomsmen to their own devices.

Who rides in the wedding limo:
Again, depending on the size of your wedding party and the size of the limousine. Some brides wish to arrive with their bridesmaids, others with their parents, and even some would prefer a moment of solitude before the big event.

What about the out of town guests:
Consider providing out of towers with transportation to the ceremony and back to the hotel, this way you avoid worrying about guests navigating an unfamiliar city or having to choose a designated driver. Depending on your guest list, you may opt to reserve a chauffeured car service or for a larger group - a minibus to take everyone at once.
