Walkway Over the Hudson

When you think of Walkway Over the Hudson, think of it as Poughkeepsie’s version of the Highline in NYC. This former railroad overpass is more than a mile long, making it the world’s largest elevated pedestrian bridge. Right in the middle of the Hudson River and surrounded by the Catskills you won’t be able to miss the colorful sights of this season. 

Shawangunk Mountains Scenic Byway

About 90 miles north of midtown is an 88-mile loop between Kerhonkson and New Paltz, NY that offers drive-by viewers some of the state’s most “insta-worthy” pictures. When you’re done cruising the scenic byway,  you can visit some of the local towns for delicious food and drinks.

Bear Mountain State Park

Bear Mountain State Park is in mountain terrain, west of the Hudson River. While visiting there, you can enjoy easy hiking trails that light up with the colors of fall. The park also features shaded picnic groves, perfect for a Sunday brunch with family or friends.

• Woodside Orchards - To make sure apples are available for all visitors throughout the season, both the Jamesport and Aquebogue locations open new areas of the orchard each weekend. • Lewin Farms - The first pick your own farm on Long Island, Lewin offers a variety of u-pick fruits and vegetables. While you’re there, check out this year’s 5 acre corn maze.
