Fresh Kills - Williamsburg

Speedy Romeo - LES

Saint Pepsi got its start with four mixtapes of new wave and synth-pop samples. As DeRobertis developed his sampling technique, he branched out into disco and funk music. Around the same time, Saint Pepsi received even more attention for his “Call Me Maybe” remix, a captivating re-working of the Carly Rae Jepsen hit.

Biang! - The owners of cult Chinese chainlet Xi'an Famous Foods expand their offerings at this small-plates restaurant that showcases the cuisine of North-Central China with hand-pulled noodle dishes like liáng pí (cold, chewy wheat ribbons with seitan, cucumber, sprouts and a chili dressing) and qi pork biang-biang (spicy-and-sour pork belly with star anise). 41-10 Main St, (between 41st Ave and 41st Rd)

2014 New York International Fringe Festival Begins Today!

Musicals, comedies, puppet shows, dance - oh my! The 2014 New York International Fringe Festival begins today running through the 24th with 200 shows and 1,200 performances to choose from! One of the city’s largest events is celebrating its 18th anniversary this year including work by 205 different theater and dance companies, each having 5 or 6 opportunities to show its stuff!

But wait, there’s more! This year’s festival is introducing #FringeOnTheFly - a quick and easy way to buy tickets to ANY of FringeNYC’s performances. Simply go to the website any time up to 30 minutes before the curtain to reserve tickets. Then, once you arrive, they’ll scan your phone and vua-la you’re all set.
