Early Holiday Happenings 2015

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

Winter Village, Bryant Park
The holidays are quickly approaching and we have your guide for some early happenings this month on Long Island and NYC to help you get into the spirit!

Long Beach’s 11th annual turkey trot will take place on Sunday, November 22, 2015. There will be two races: one for children under the age of 17 at 8:30 am and the 10K race for all ages at 9:00 am. Both races start and finish on New York Avenue and the boardwalk. Be sure to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit those in the community in need!

Would Thanksgiving really be Thanksgiving without the Macy’s parade? The balloons have already been tested and they are ready to fly! For the past 89 years, the parade never fails to disappoint us with giant balloons, floats, cheerleaders, clowns, marching bands, and performances.

Bryant Park’s winter village opened last week and is a must see this season! With more than 125 boutiques housed in custom-designed “jewelry box” kiosks and a 170’ x 100’ rink featuring free admission ice skating,  the park really transforms into a winter wonderland. Celsius is also apart of the action by serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks everyday.

Starting in the middle of November, many stores on Fifth Avenue create their famous holiday windows. Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Macy’s and more will be showing off this thrilling artistry for free each day and night. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes while you wait - but the line is worth it!

The Holiday Lights Spectacular at Jones Beach returns November 20th with over 2.5 miles of holiday scenes featuring 150 light displays. The Holiday Village will also make its return, so bring the kids and take photos with Santa, enjoy a make your own s’mores station, watch some live performances, and more!

The Rockettes are kicking off their holiday season November 13th! In its 88th year of precision dancing and high kicking, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has become an annual tradition for many tourists and locals alike.

After reading about what’s happening this season, why not make a day or evening out of it? Our premier limousine services are the best out there. Call us to make your reservation today: (631) 587-8500!

Bridal Party 101: DOs and DON'Ts

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

We know how hard it is to plan the perfect bridal shower for your bride. Between picking out a date that works for everyone to choosing a venue that is great for the celebration, you might need some assistance. Let’s review some basic DOs and DON’Ts to get you started.

Do take the initiative to plan the party - but don’t put it all on yourself!

Enlist the help of other members of the bridal party to get the event planned and coordinated. Discuss with everyone what they can each help with and assign them specific duties.

Do pick a date in advance - but don’t forget to check in with the VIPs for their availability!
Ideally you want as many people in attendance as possible, however such is life - and schedules don’t always line up. That said, make sure you ask any immediate family members and the bridal party for their availability. If you have people traveling from out of town, you’ll also need to take travel plans into consideration.

Do review your bride’s guest list - don’t invite anyone who isn’t invited to the wedding!
Before sending out any invites, reference your bride’s guest list. You don’t want to hurt any feelings by inviting guests who aren’t invited to the actual wedding. If however your bride is having a very small intimate or destination wedding - it is OK to include other guests.

Do have an itinerary - but don’t make it too strict!
Make a loose itinerary for the day to know what to follow - bridal shower games, sit down meal if applicable, opening gifts, etc. Have some back up plans as well incase there’s an unexpected lull in the party.

Do provide gift guidelines - don’t make gift giving X-rated!
Be sure to share the bride’s registry information and give ideas for any off-registry items she may want (perhaps gear for the honeymoon). Remind your guests that this is an all ages affair - any gifts that may be too raunchy should be saved for the bachelorette party.
