Memorial Day Weekend 2016 Travel Tips

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Heading out of town this weekend? You won’t be alone.

Last year, AAA projected 37 million Americans were traveling during Memorial Day Weekend. This year? 38 million are expected to take to the skies and highways due to record low gas prices and airfare.

So what’s a traveler to do?
  • Sign up for alerts - Whether through social media or smartphone apps, sign up for travel alerts to stay in the know. Keep an eye on the news for road delays and check your apps for gate changes at airports.
  • Leave EXTRA early - Roads and airports will likely be mobbed, so be proactive and leave with plenty of time to get to your destination. Plus, with the recent TSA issues - you may want to arrive an hour or two earlier than usual if you’re flying.
  • Check your vehicle - For those of you hitting the roads, make sure your car is in tip top shape prior to departure. That means checking your battery, tires, and oil. Having a roadside emergency kit on hand may also be the difference of getting back on the road soon, or being stuck where you are for some time.
If you’re heading to the airport this weekend avoid road rage, parking fees, and navigation responsibilities - turn to Dynasty Limousine. We’re available for all your airport drop off and pick up needs, to ensure your weekend is hassle free. Give us a call to request a quote - our offices are open 24 hours for your convenience.

Wine Tasting Theme Parties

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Call over all of your friends and pop open the bottles! Whether you’re an experienced sommelier, or a first time sipper, a wine tasting party is both a social and educational way to experience new types of vino.

Planning your next fête? Here are some tasting themes you must try!
Blind Wine Tasting. Serve up some excitement by pouring your guests different wines with the labels covered, and let the guessing begin! Much of our judgement of wines is influenced by the region, knowledge of the producer and even the price. A blind wine tasting party allows you to asses the quality of the wines without being biased.

Wine Scoring Party. Wine scoring parties allow the tasters to share their opinions and spark a conversation about wines in a comfortable environment. Score cards are handed out, where guests rank the wines in different categories like appearance, aroma, body, taste and finish.

Wine Tasting By Region. Transport yourself to the French countryside (or your exotic destination of choice)! Really explore your wine region of choice by pairing the wines with local foods and decor from that area. Comparing different wines from the same region is an interesting way to see how their styles differ.

Vertical Wine Tasting. A vertical wine tasting party pairs several of the same wines, from the same producer or vineyard, across several different vintages. This type of tasting is helpful in getting a feel for a particular winery’s composition, and shows you how weather patterns may affect the taste of the wines over the years.

Horizontal Wine Tasting. A horizontal wine tasting provides insight into the characteristics that are unique to a specific vintage. These wines can be from the same wine region or from different regions around the world. Trying out all different wines from the same year, is a great way to determine what styles of wine you typically prefer.

Want to sip with your friends without the hassle? Forego hosting a party and join us for a trip to the vineyards. Call us today and we’ll set up a fully customizable wine tour for your next outing. We provide our customers with luxurious limousines and/or limo buses which can accommodate a party of 2 to 30 guests to the East End of Long Island for a day of relaxation and fun. Visit our wine tour page for more information!

Your Guide To "Planning" A Spontaneous Trip

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Whether it's a two week trip to Europe or a quick weekend getaway out of town, most of us are guilty of spending hours upon hours planning every little detail - transportation accommodations, hotel and restaurant reservations, some of us may even go so far as to print out an itinerary that covers every minute of every day. But while some trips certainly do require such extensive planning, sometimes it's more exciting to be spontaneous and treat yourself to the vacation you need, right when you need it. Sound like something you're ready to roll with?

If you're ready to head out on a spontaneous journey, here are a few tips that can help you "prepare:"

Be ready to be flexible: When it comes to airfare specifically, be prepared to be flexible if you want to get the best deal. A recent study done by CheapAir showed that the best time to book a flight within the U.S (based on 2015 data) was 54 days in advance, but don't assume that that will apply to every trip - you may need to adjust dates and times to get the cheapest price.

Don't over or under pack: While you don't want to pack too much, if your trip really is spontaneous, you'll never know what you may need in a few days. To get your packing done just right, make sure you have all of the essentials plus just a few extras - an extra t-shirt or two and one different pair of shoes, for example.

Find ONE popular tourist attraction: Rather than plan out every moment of every day, find just one attraction in the area that you find interesting. Then, once you're done with that experience, just start walking left or right - you'd be surprised at how many unexpected tourist attractions you'll find just by exploring on your own!

Have some backup information ready: As much as a spontaneous trip isn't meant to be planned out exactly, it doesn't hurt to have some sort of back up plan in place. Even if it's as simple as you writing down a few recommended restaurants and sticking the piece of paper in your suitcase for safe keeping, knowing that you have a helpful resource close by can help ease some of the nerves that come with traveling without a plan.

For those of you traveling from or around Long Island, one thing you certainly won't have to worry about planning is your transportation - that's what we're here for. We have one of the most impressive limousine fleets in New York and can get you to and from the airport or your local hotel and/or destination safely.

To reserve your car with us, please call (631) 587-8500 today.

Why You Should Book Shuttles for Your Wedding Guests

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Excitement aside, it's not unusual for both local and out of town guests to stress over how they'll get to and from the ceremony and reception, especially if a drink or two is involved. Ensure they arrive on time, stress-free, by booking shuttle transportation with us!

Here's some important things to keep in mind:

Consider where your ceremony and reception are.
Offering shuttles to help get guests to and from your wedding is a simple way to ensure everyone leaves the celebration and gets back to the hotel safely. Not to mention shuttles help your guests avoid the hassle of driving, parking, then driving again should you be having your ceremony and reception in two different venues. Plus, if parking is scarce, a shuttle service is a sigh of relief.

Take the drive yourself.
While we’re on the two venue topic - you may want to consider taking the drive yourself. If you feel like you are schlepping across the world to get from your ceremony to your reception and back to the hotel - you may not want to sign off on anything just yet. Try looking into closer hotel options or a venue that can host both your ceremony and reception. If you’ve made up your mind - offering a shuttle service is a nice gesture.

Remember timing.
Take the amount of guests you have staying at your hotel into consideration when coordinating the number of shuttles you book for the day. As Brides.com suggests, say you have 250 guests and have booked three 38-passenger shuttles to bring them from the hotel, to the ceremony, to the reception, and then back. Those three buses will need at least seven trips to pick everyone up which can amount to a long wait for guests on the last bus. Start the shuttles early enough before the ceremony and plan for a longer cocktail hour to ensure all guests arrive on time!

Dynasty limousines is one of the largest and most established limousine companies on Long Island. Our dedicated staff is here to serve you from your very first phone call. Our reputation is very important to us and we work hard to make sure that your experience with us is memorable and worry-free.

5 Must Try Vendors at This Year’s Smorgasburg

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Warning: Do not attempt to read this blog on an empty stomach - seriously, don’t. Smorgasburg is back outdoors and it’s better, and more delicious, than ever! To meet the demands of die-hard foodies, the artisanal festival can be found on Saturdays in it’s original location of Williamsburg and newly set up shop on Sundays in Prospect Park.

Whether you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth or want to indulge in some Asian street food, these vendors are worth lining up for:
A video posted by BIG MOZZ (@bigmozznyc) on
  1. Big Mozz:  This is for every cheese lover out there! The secret behind the Big Mozz is hand stretched cheese, resulting in some of the most amazing fried mozzarella sticks and pizzas known to man.
  2. BrunchStreet: Put a new spin on your breakfast classics with BrunchStreet’s brunch-on-a -stick. Caramelized french toast and sausage skewers are among fan favorites, as are the quail eggs on a stick, a traditional Chinese breakfast.
  3. Wowfulls: The name says it all- wow!  This Hong Kong creation pairs egg based waffles with ice cream and toppings, resulting in the most beautiful and Instagram-worthy cone you’ve ever seen. Choose from three different combos including green tea ice cream and Oreo cookie crumb, perfect for those hot days ahead.
  4. Best Buds Burritos: As if a standard burrito isn’t delicious enough, these burritos incorporate all of the traditional ingredients we love, while adding a twist--french fries! The combination of this salty snack and mouth-watering meat will have anyone who tries it saying “Holy Guacamole!”
  5. Fedoroff’s South Philly Cheesesteaks: No outdoor food festival would be complete without a Philly cheesesteak. Staying true to his native roots of Philadelphia, Dave Fedoroff, who already runs the successful Fedoroff Roast Pork, tops off thinly sliced steak with creamy cheez whiz and onions.
Ready to get your grub on? Skip the hassle of trains, subways and cabs- give Dynasty Limousine a call at 631-587-8500 to reserve your ride!

3 New Beer Gardens to Check Out This Summer

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

It’s the most wonderful time of the year--beer garden season! Some may argue that there are few things more exciting than day drinking with close friends - and we don’t blame them.

So grab your friends, give us a call, and we’ll take you over to some of the below new beer gardens that have opened in time for summer!
Photo courtesy of Bromberg Bros. Blue Ribbon Restaurants
Blue Ribbon Beer Garden: Pouring out beer from all over the world, Blue Ribbon Beer Garden is the perfect space to get your drink and your games on! Equipped with ping-pong tables and a board game shelf, this Thompson Hotel hot spot offers everything from a refreshing pale ale to the Immortal IPA. Not in the mood for a brew? Sip wine or sangria under the bright colored paper lanterns, and top it off with some chocolate chip cookies from the snack menu. Yum!

The Dazzler Beer Garden: Set on the second floor of the Dazzler Hotel, this unique indoor-outdoor space is a rarity in Downtown, Brooklyn. Communal tables and globe string lights set a rustic tone, while the drink menu stays true to its urban roots. Beers from local breweries and cocktails named after different Brooklyn neighborhoods are what they’re known for. Non-local brews, like IPA and Carlsberg are also offered and can be paired with a beer brat from the Austrian-influenced bar snack menu.

Steeplechase Beer Garden: This Coney Island beer garden serves up suds from local breweries, and grows their own hops! Paying homage to the former amusement mecca, Steeplechase features a carnival themed atmosphere, and stands on the exact site of the original Steeplechase Amusement Park (1897-1964) that thrilled previous generations. The beer won’t be the only local fare, as a full menu featuring a lobster BLT, includes locally sourced ingredients as well.

Ready to grab some brew? Reserve your ride with Dynasty Limo to ensure you reach your final destination safely! Give us a call at 631-587-8500 to check our availability!

#FoodieFriday - LI Restaurants

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Long Island has lots to offer - beautiful beaches, picturesque golf courses and great restaurants.

Whether you’re catching up with friends and family or enjoying a romantic night with your partner, there are few things better than enjoying good conversation over a delicious meal.
Looking for fine dining, a casual sit down or something in between? Hop on over to one of these Long Island restaurants, and make sure to bring your appetite!
Photo via Waterzooi / Mike Tse
Waterzooi: Known for their moules frites- or to us, mussels and fries, this Belgian Bistro and Oyster Bar is the jewel of Garden City. Offering upwards of ten different styles of mussels, each order is served up in a little pot accompanied with fries and dipping sauces. Not in the mood for mussels? Alternative entreés are listed, offering something for everyone. Try a Belgian brew from their extensive beer list, and make sure to save room for dessert--their belgian waffle sundaes are heavenly!

Grotta di Fuoco: Italian food is a staple on Long Island, but this rustic take on the traditional Italian restaurant will give all others a run for their money. Grotta di Fuoco, literally translated to “fire cave,” specializes in brick oven pizza from their wood burning oven, which is the focal point of the joint. Classic pasta dishes are served with a twist, as the ravioli and cannelloni are all homemade. Pair these entreés with a wine from their full bar, and you’ll feel like you’re eating in Italy, not the West End of Long Beach.

All American Hamburger Drive-In:  Not every five star meal has to be a fancy sit down.  A summertime mainstay since 1963, All American in Massapequa, is as old-school as it comes. The lines run long for these mouth-watering burgers and fries that have developed a cult-like following.  Place your order at a glass enclosed counter, and grab a seat at an outdoor table, or even in your car (trust us, it’s worth it)!  Resemblant of a 50’s diner, the nostalgia runs as thick as the milkshakes, which are the perfect way to wash down that cheeseburger!

For other great LI restaurant recommendations, check out Thrillist.

Now that we have your mouth watering, go ahead and make a reservation - then give Dynasty Limo a call to handle your transportation! Plan a day out and about on Long Island. Contact us today for more information and to view our availability.

Where to Travel Each Month For the Best Deals

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
When it comes to booking travel, you’ve heard a lot of things - i.e. Sundays are the most expensive day to fly but Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to be the cheapest. While some of these travel tips can be up for debate, booking.com lets us know you can count on getting good hotel values provided you pick the right destination for the right time of the year.

If you’re looking to get the most bang for your buck - plan your trips around when hotel rates are proven to be low. Here’s where you should travel each month this summer for the best deals:

May: Fort Lauderdale, FL

By choosing to head south this month, you won’t only be missing the groups of spring breakers - but you’ll also dodge the soon to be 100 percent humidity filled weather. Spend some time at the beach or bar hop down Las Olas Boulevard!

June: San Antonio, TX

Only an hours drive from the capital, San Antonio offers significantly cheaper hotel rates than Austin. From theme parks and zoos to the River Walk lined with restaurants, patios, galleries, and shops - there are plenty of things for visitors to see and do.

July: Boston, MA

Celebrate Fourth of July on the Esplanade! Why? Well for one, according to Travel+Leisure, you can save about $120 per night on your hotel in Boston during July 4th instead of Columbus Day - and you’ll have better weather. Plus you’ll be able to enjoy the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular with performances from Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas.

August: New York, NY
Staycation anyone? The last week of August offers up the deepest discounts on accommodations in the Big Apple. Enjoy the many summer events NYC has to offer - like Central Park’s SummerStage or Shakespeare in the Park.

September: Orlando, FL

It’s probably no surprise that once school is in session, Disney prices hit their rock bottom lows. So plan a trip to the most magical place on Earth this September! Bonus - Epcot’s Food and Wine festival starts on September 14th.
No matter where your 2016 travel plans take you, Dynasty Limousine will be there to handle your transportation needs. We offer competitive rates for Airport and Ground Transportation in the New York area. Call and request a quote today (631) 587-8500!
