#WeddingWednesday - Beat the Heat at Your Summer Wedding

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

For those not put off by a bit of humidity and heat, summer is the perfect season for a wedding. Some may say choosing an outdoor ceremony is a bold move - although you’ll have the perfect backdrop for beautiful scenic photos, you run the risk of frequenting your phone for weather updates and worrying about your guests’ (and bridal party’s) comfort.

Not to worry outdoor lovers, this is nothing a bit of planning can’t take care of. There are many creative and cost-effective options to “heat proof” your outdoor wedding and ensure comfort on your big day:

Hydration - Beer, wine, and liquor don’t count toward keeping you hydrated. If your outdoor wedding is forecasted to be during the peak of a heat wave, be sure to supply your guests with water and other hydrating beverages. Keep an eye out for children and elderly guests as these groups are more apt to become quickly dehydrated.

Comforting Favors - While favors are typically provided at the end of the night, an outdoor ceremony provides ample opportunities for gifting to your guests to make and keep them comfortable. You may choose to put your wedding program on a fan, provide a cooling face mist, or in case of a breezy beach wedding - perhaps light weight blankets are a better option.

Cool It Down - If you opt for having the ceremony during the sun’s peak hours, having some shade available will help ease your guests. If there’s no natural shade to be found, renting large tents can provide an escape from the sun. You may also want to consider high-velocity blower fans or A/C units for a refreshing breeze (just be sure to text them for noise).

Frosty Treats - Treat your guests to cool treats, like popsicles or ice cream. It doesn’t hurt to make sure your caterer plans on food that will keep well outdoors in the heat to avoid spoilage. Summer menu items of cold, refreshing veggies, cold seafood, fruit skewers, and gazpacho shots are much more palatable in hot weather than heavier, cream-sauce dishes.

Finally it’s always a good idea to keep your guests informed. Everyone loves an element of surprise, but letting your guests know they will be spending a lot of time outdoors will help prepare them for the day. No matter what you select for your outdoor wedding ceremony, let Dynasty Limousine handle your transportation needs. We’ve been the ideal choice for brides and groom in and around the Long Island area because we combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers.

If you have any questions about renting the right transportation for your wedding party’s needs - give us a call at 631-587-8500.

Summer Concert Guide

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Warm weather, rooftop bars, Central Park and music. It’s almost summer in the city and with that comes a range of music festivals just minutes from our backyards.

The festival scene in New York is much like its people; a diverse, exciting mix. Whether you're into indie, rock, electronic, or hip hop - there's bound to be a concert you'll enjoy. So while you’re planning your summer excursions we wanted to round up some of the best fests, courtesy of TimeOut.com, to look forward to in the upcoming months:

Electric Daisy Carnival - Saturday May 24th - Sunday May 25th
MetLife Stadium, NYC
“The world famous EDM fest comes to NYC - expect thousands of costumed ravers and ragers partying from dusk - dawn all weekend long.”
Artists: Tiesto, Hardwell, Nero, Bassnectar, and more

The Governors Ball Music Festival - Friday June 6th - Sunday June 8th
Randall’s Island, NYC
"If a verified tropical storm that brought monsoon-like rain and several feet of mud couldn’t dampen spirits at Gov Ball last year, we’re pretty sure nothing can."
Artists: Outkast, Disclosure, Grimes, Chance the Rapper, Skrillex, and more

Northside Festival - Thursday June 12th - Thursday June 19th
McCarren Park, Brooklyn
"In the five years since it began, this hip summer fest has gone from a showcase for up-and-coming acts to a Brooklyn version of SXSW, with concerts, a film festival and an "innovation" component for techies."
Artists: Sharon Van Etten, Courtney Barnett, Titus Andronicus, Omar Souleyman, Beach Fossils and more

River to River Festival - Thursday June 19th - Sunday June 29th
Lower Manhattan, NYC
"An inviting, musically adventurous music series in New York City—located, incongruously, among the skyscraper alleys and shuttered-after-6pm storefronts of downtown Manhattan. Believe it or not, it works."
Artists: Bang on a Can Marathon, ETHEL, Kaki King and more

Celebrate Brooklyn! - Thursday June 12th - Sunday August 17th
Prospect Park, Brooklyn
"SummerStage may be bigger and better-known, but Celebrate Brooklyn! has been around for much longer. And yes, it's worth the trek to Brooklyn—not least because the Bandshell's a beaut."
Artists: Janelle Monaé, Neutral Milk Hotel, The National, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Central Park SummerStage - Sunday June 29th - Saturday August 30th
Central Park, NYC
"Taking in a concert at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield is as essential a summer-in-New-York activity as a trip to Rockaway Beach."
Artists: Beck, Conor Oberst, Counting Crows

Party Bus Safety Tips

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
With prom season in full bloom, it’s always good to talk to your teenagers about party bus safety tips! Whether it’s for a senior prom or birthday celebration - at Dynasty Limo we want you to have fun on the bus while being safe:

  • Check to make sure everyone on the bus is part of your party. Don’t let outsiders ruin the night. Remember, you’re paying for this - only allow those who were invited on the bus.

  • Don’t exceed the number of people on the bus. It’s never safe to cram people in a small area - not only will there not be enough seating, things may break or people can get hurt.

  • For those 21+ - if there is drinking involved on the bus, be careful and don’t drink excessively. Make sure soft drinks and water are well stocked.

  • Make sure you have a plan. Tell the driver exactly where you are going that evening. Make a list and map it out to ensure you use your time wisely.
  • Please ask us about our safety rules this way you know what you can do on the bus to avoid any problems later on in the night.
These simple tips will help you and your party enjoy your evening to the fullest, creating lasting memories!

With our years of experience in Prom and Party Transportation, you can be sure we will provide a safe and pleasant trip for your teenager and their friends. Make the call to our experienced event specialists, and leave the driving to us: (631) 587-8500!
