#WeddingWednesday - When to Book Your Vendors (Part 2)

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

So... you’ve hired your wedding planner, put a deposit down on a venue, booked a caterer and secured your ceremony officiant.  What’s next? See below to learn about all of the vendors that you should be focusing on booking in the next planning phase, 6-10 months before your wedding.

Entertainment - DJs, videographers, photographers, live bands, professional electric sliders, whoever you choose to hire for entertainment at your wedding, should be booked on the earlier end of the 6-10 month range. This will help to ensure that you will have variety in your options, and will give you a better chance at booking your top choice.  Since great entertainment is at the core of every successful wedding, vendors tend to book up quickly.

Invitations - Although invitations are not necessary more than 6 months in advance, you should alert your guests of your wedding with a ‘save the date’ upon securing your venue.  That way, they will have plenty of time to pencil your big moment into their busy schedules.

Florist - Since florists are typically used to handling a few weddings at a time, you’d be safe to book on the lower end of the 6-10 month timetable.  However, take into account the size and popularity of the shop.  Shops that are on the smaller scale or those that are more popular will sell out faster, especially if your wedding is planned during their busy season.  If you have your heart set on a specific florist, try to put a deposit down as soon as you can.

Cake Baker - Similar to florists, bakeries are used to dealing with multiple cake orders at a time, so ordering within this timeframe should be perfect.  Be sure to visit as many bakeries as possible and sample, sample, sample!  That way, you can find the perfect cake flavor and design for your special day.

Transportation - If you're getting married in the spring during prom season, or want something unique by way of transportation, you may want to move this to the task up on the timeline.  Transportation is so important on your big day, because without the ride there is no bride!  Make sure to book your transportation at least 6 months in advance, to ensure that you can secure the best in the business - like your friends here at Dynasty Limousine!

While we may not be able to help with your invitations or florist, we are your one stop shop for all your transportation and wedding attire needs. Located just next door is our Village Bridal & Boutique offering a large selection of wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and tuxedo rentals.

#WeddingWednesday - 5 Things Brides Don’t Need at Their Wedding

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

Whether you are looking for an over the top production or a more intimate ceremony, a lot of details (and stress) go into planning the big day - and we’re here to help remind you not to sweat the small stuff!

Take a step back from your overwhelming collection of Pinterest boards and consider cutting out some frills to save yourself money and a headache. See below for some things women say they didn't necessarily need at their wedding:

  1. Wedding Favors - How many candles have you kept with the couples initials engraved on them? While its a nice idea to give your guests something to remember your occasion, more often than not favors get left behind. Should favors be on your to do list, perhaps make it a delicious, edible option.
  2. Expensive shoes that are hidden - If you’ve been waiting for a chance to indulge on some pricey pumps, by all means. But keep in mind these shoes will be tucked away under your dress all night. Should expensive shoes be on your must haves list, consider a pair you can wear for future occasions as well.
  3. Extra paper goods - Elaborate save the dates, paper menus, programs, table numbers, etc., can all leave a costly paper trail. Consider alternatives, setting up a large sign announcing menu options and seating arrangements - or spend some time customizing stationary yourself.
  4. Expensive flowers - Keep in mind that choosing flowers that are in season and grown in the US are less expensive and easier to obtain.
  5. Full priced wedding gown - Trunk shows have their benefits, not only can you score great discounts but also free customization perks. Bridal sample sales also give brides the chance to find designer gowns that can be reduced up to 90%.
One thing not to skip out on, travel arrangements. After all, you, your fiancé, bridal parties, and parents need a way to get to the venue - and that’s where we come in. Truth is, there is no rule on how many limos you choose or who gets to ride in them - that decision falls on you, your fiancé, and your budget.

At Dynasty Limousine, we will help you find the right cars perfect for your wedding AND help keep you within your price range. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life.  It should be filled with happiness, family, and friends! #WeddingWednesday - Beat the Heat at Your Summer Wedding

For those not put off by a bit of humidity and heat, summer is the perfect season for a wedding. Some may say choosing an outdoor ceremony is a bold move - although you’ll have the perfect backdrop for beautiful scenic photos, you run the risk of frequenting your phone for weather updates and worrying about your guests’ (and bridal party’s) comfort.

Not to worry outdoor lovers, this is nothing a bit of planning can’t take care of. There are many creative and cost-effective options to “heat proof” your outdoor wedding and ensure comfort on your big day:

Hydration - Beer, wine, and liquor don’t count toward keeping you hydrated. If your outdoor wedding is forecasted to be during the peak of a heat wave, be sure to supply your guests with water and other hydrating beverages. Keep an eye out for children and elderly guests as these groups are more apt to become quickly dehydrated.

Comforting Favors - While favors are typically provided at the end of the night, an outdoor ceremony provides ample opportunities for gifting to your guests to make and keep them comfortable. You may choose to put your wedding program on a fan, provide a cooling face mist, or in case of a breezy beach wedding - perhaps light weight blankets are a better option.

Cool It Down - If you opt for having the ceremony during the sun’s peak hours, having some shade available will help ease your guests. If there’s no natural shade to be found, renting large tents can provide an escape from the sun. You may also want to consider high-velocity blower fans or A/C units for a refreshing breeze (just be sure to text them for noise).

Frosty Treats - Treat your guests to cool treats, like popsicles or ice cream. It doesn’t hurt to make sure your caterer plans on food that will keep well outdoors in the heat to avoid spoilage. Summer menu items of cold, refreshing veggies, cold seafood, fruit skewers, and gazpacho shots are much more palatable in hot weather than heavier, cream-sauce dishes.

Finally it’s always a good idea to keep your guests informed. Everyone loves an element of surprise, but letting your guests know they will be spending a lot of time outdoors will help prepare them for the day. No matter what you select for your outdoor wedding ceremony, let Dynasty Limousine handle your transportation needs. We’ve been the ideal choice for brides and groom in and around the Long Island area because we combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers.

#WeddingWednesday - Choosing a Wedding Location

Gone are the days where couples choose the only wedding venue in their hometown for their big day. Now, the number of wedding venues are infinite. Plus with TV shows like Four Weddings or My Fair Wedding, creativity knows no bounds.

When looking for your wedding location, keep these 5 elements in mind:

  1. Style - Pick a spot that reflects you as a couple, whether by significance (the spot where you met) or by the look, like a loft, barn, or vineyard.
  2. Travel - Can your guests get there? Destination weddings are exciting but they also see a decrease in attendees. Wherever you decide to wed, consider how close the ceremony and reception are, or for out of town guests - provide transportation.
  3. Size - Know your numbers! Create a list of must haves and nice to haves to get a range of how big (or small) your invite list will be. From there you can get a better idea on location.
  4. Budget - The venue likely will account for a good portion of your wedding budget. Don’t waste time looking at options out of your price range.
  5. Service - Think about what you may need to add. A catering hall has restrooms, tables, china, where as a loft is an amazing blank canvas in need of your decoration. You, and your caterer, will likely need to bring everything in, which can be an added expense.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life.  It should be filled with happiness, family, and friends!  Dynasty Limousine has been the ideal choice for brides and groom in and around the Long Island area because we combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers.

Planning a wedding can be stressful. Finding a dress, choosing a bridal party, picking flowers, invitations, a venue, and the countless other wedding day details is enough to drive anyone crazy! Wedding Magazine has gathered some great tips to help make your wedding planning process run smoothly and stress-free!

1. Your wedding day draws nearer with each passing day, but don’t panic! Despite the anxiousness you might feel, try to remain calm. Take a deep breath, then get started!

2. When coordinating a wedding, you may be forced to deal with people who have different opinions; bridesmaids, in-laws, parents and maybe even your fiancé. Everyone seems to think they know best! What matters most is how you feel! It’s your day! Address issues right away and be honest. Let your family and friends know you appreciate their input, but you’ve decided to go in another direction.

3. There are so many decisions to make when planning a wedding. Don’t waste time trying to make every detail perfect. Chances are no one will even notice! When it comes to floral arrangements and cake designs, make confident decisions and don’t think twice! Eventually, you will find making decisions to be easy!

4. Don’t forget to book the honeymoon! After working hard to create a fantastic wedding for you and your fiancé, you deserve the getaway of a lifetime. Plan the honeymoon together and get excited about your trip!

5. Finally, take the time to enjoy something new. Set aside some time during your week to hike, exercise, join a pottery class, or anything else. Do what you love and enjoy it worry free.
