US Travel Spotlight: Greenville, SC

Dynasty Limousine | Airport Transportation

When you think South Carolina, Charleston or Myrtle Beach may come to mind. But when we think South Carolina, we think of a tucked away Blue Ridge Mountain town — where the food is great, the landscape is gorgeous and the people are the epitome of polite.

Such a town exists, you ask? You betcha. Greenville, South Carolina — one of the fastest growing cities and for good reason. Only a short two hour flight away, here are 4 reasons why you should take a trip to see what all the fuss is about.

1. Booming restaurant scene.
Bring your appetite, downtown Greenville is known for its many restaurants of nearly every type of food — from traditional to eclectic. Don’t know what to start? Check out Linda’s “Tasty International Tapas” Crawl and sample some small plates from Roost Restaurant, Soby’s New South Cuisine, Halls Chophouse, The Lazy Goat and American Grocery Restaurant.

2. Inspiring art galleries.
Art museums, street art, local galleries — Greenville is a thriving arts scene. Go on a Mouse Hunt to spot all the Mice on Main then head to the Greenville County Museum of Art for one of the world’s largest collections of works by Andrew Wyeth and Jasper John.

3. Picture perfect scenery.
The name is Greenville after all, so naturally you can expect to find beautiful trees and a picturesque landscape even in downtown. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a biker’s dream — a 21-mile, paved path running alongside the Reedy River south of the city, through downtown and up to Travelers Rest (another perfectly named town). Rent a bike from Reedy Rides or Bike the Rabbit and take a cruise one sunny afternoon.

4. Annual Festivals and Events.
With more than 300 “event days” each year, chances are you won’t have a problem finding something to do. Check out the full list of happenings here, and some standout ones in the coming months below:

  • Greenville Heritage FCU Main Street Fridays: Presented by Pepsi, this weekly music series takes place every Friday from March 17 to September 29 on Main Street at NOMA Square, beginning at 5:30p and concluding at 9:30p.
  • Artisphere: An annual three-day event in May that gives arts patrons the opportunity to meet exhibiting artists and purchase original works of art.
  • Euphoria: A highly anticipated weekend-long event, Euphoria comes to Downtown Greenville this September for exclusive tasting events, cooking demonstrations and wine seminars, as well as multi-course dinners and live musical performances. To purchase tickets and view the 2017 schedule, head to the even website on April 23.

4 Reasons a Baseball Game Makes a Good Date

There’s a reason many believe the ballpark to be a common date spot. Why? The kiss cam, of course — kidding, sort of.

Baseball is America’s favorite pastime — even those who aren’t sports fans tend to have a fundamental grasp of how the game is played. Plus compared to other sporting events, baseball games typically a) have cheaper tickets and b) don’t require constant, unwavering attention. So change up your next date night plans, instead of heading to a bar and talking for three hours —why not have a bit more fun?

Batter up — here are four reasons why a baseball game is a good idea for your next date:

1. It’s an easy conversation starter.
Especially great for those still getting to know each other! No need to worry about awkward silences or conversations stalls, you at least will have the game to talk about!

2. The food is a grand slam.
Seriously — it’s SO much more than peanuts and Cracker Jacks. At Citi Field you can expect to find: Big Mozz, Nicoletta, Fuku, El Verano tacos, Blue Smoke Barbecue, Shake Shack, DŌ, and more. And at Yankee Stadium? Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Parm, Lobel’s of New York, and the Tacos and Empanadas Cart are sure to please the foodie in you.

3. It’s a casual atmosphere.
“I don’t know what to wear.” A phrase all to common — especially when a date is involved. But when it comes to a baseball game, a t-shirt or jersey is more than appropriate. Plus, the casual atmosphere helps people relax and be themselves!

4. There’s a ton of things going on.
You don’t have to sit in one place the whole time! Most new parks are designed so you can walk around and still see what's going on. In between innings, head to a nearby bar or lounge or check out a Hall of Fame display.

With opening day next week, step up to the dating plate and get ready to play ball!

If you’re looking to go the extra mile this date night, take us out to the ball game! We’ll provide you with door-to-door service to either Yankee Stadium or Citi Field. No need to worry about traffic or parking, Dynasty Limousine works to make your evening as stress free as possible! Make your next night one to remember, give us a call today to reserve your ride: 631-587-8500!

NYC St. Patrick's Day Festivities

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

St. Patrick’s Day and New York City, a pairing more perfect than corned beef and cabbage. Perhaps that’s a stretch, but nonetheless, it’s almost time for all the shenanigans St. Patty’s Day brings!

If you’re looking to have some "craic," look no further – here’s your complete St. Patrick’s Day itinerary! Trust us, you’ll want to make sure you book your party bus with Dynasty Limousine now, so you can enjoy plenty of pints of Guinness later  sláinte!
First, fuel up with Kegs & Eggs at SideBAR.
Start the holiday right, with SideBAR’s 6th annual Kegs & Eggs St. Patty’s Day Celebration! From 11a – 1p, fuel up with green eggs, green pancakes, green bagels and your childhood favorite – Lucky Charms! Tickets for the event cost $60 and includes unlimited green Bud Light Drafts to wash it all down.

Then, hit up one of New York City’s finest Irish Pubs.
Whether you start with Kegs & Eggs or dive right into the city’s Irish Pub scene, you won’t be disappointed. Connolly’s Pub and Restaurant will be hosting their annual St. Pat’s Party kicking off at 6am with a Boomer & Carten broadcast, followed by performances from Jameson’s Revenge and Shilelagh Law! For a traditional Irish bar experience, stop by Molly’s Pub and Restaurant Shebeen, complete with sawdust-covered floors and a log-burning fireplace. Or, New York City’s oldest saloon (founded in 1854 by an Irish immigrant), McSorley’s Old Ale House. Do note, McSorley’s only serves two kinds of beer: dark and light.

After, stop for some Irish fare.
If you didn’t have a chance to stop into Molly’s yet, now’s the time! Molly’s excels in Irish-American comfort grub, and their corned beef and cabbage is top notch. Some other honorable mentions: The Dead Rabbit will be hosting their annual St. Patrick’s Day thrash, with complimentary corned beef sandwiches and lamb stew. And The Perfect Pint, serving up shepherd’s pie, bangers & mash, and Irish beef stew to name a few!

Finally, finish with some laughs in Astoria.
Q.E.D. in Astoria will be presenting Laugh of the Irish from 9:30p – 11p, a comedy show hosted by Kevin Froleiks. The Irish comics on the lineup include: Erin Lynn O'Connor, Kevin Michael Smith, Justin Flannigan, Patrick J. Reilly, Sinead Hennessy and Evan M. Williams. With tickets only $8 per person, there’s no better way to conclude your daylong celebration!

Whether you’re making plans for Friday or are extending your celebrations all weekend long, make sure your group gets to and from your planned events safely. Contact Dynasty Limousine today for more information and to view our availability: (631) 587-8500.

Wedding Planning Hacks

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
Congrats you’re engaged! And now the true chaos begins — the wedding planning process. Before you feel like things are spiraling out of control, we want to help you save your time, sanity and some funds by offering some wedding planning hacks!

Only pay for the expertise that you need!
Planners, coordinators, designers — but which planning service is right for you? If you’re looking for someone to be there each step of the way — negotiating contracts, securing vendors, organizing details — a wedding planner is your best bet. This person also tends to take on the role of a wedding coordinator the day of your wedding, however if you are planning to do majority of the planning yourself, a separate wedding coordinator may be all you need. Finally there are the designers, the people who are focused on creating stunning visual displays for your big day. Their primary focus is to transform your event space, not to handle the logistics of your guest list! Once you know what you need help with, seek out those professionals — or one who specializes in all of the above.

Consider booking an off-date.
Celebs and civilians alike are leaning towards an off-date wedding for a variety of reasons: Venues tend to book up during peak weekend times, making Thursday and Friday celebrations a more common occurrence; choosing to marry in the off-season (November — March) can significantly decrease costs; plus, you have a higher chance at securing your favorite vendors who may have previously been booked.

Create a wedding specific email.
As you know, being organized is key — especially during the wedding planning process. Use a separate wedding email for anything wedding related, from RSVPs to vendor communications. This way you keep important emails separate from accidentally being marked as spam, and you’ll have an address to use for any joint bills down the line!

Read the fine print in your photography package.
Before you sign your photography contract, make sure you will own the personal-use rights to your images immediately following your wedding. If you won’t, you’ll likely have to buy each image you want separately, or get involved in a long battle with the photography company.

Don’t skimp on the transportation costs.
While there is no official rule in regards to limo etiquette, you want to make sure your bridal party and guests can get to and from your venue safely. For example, if you have a lot of out of town guests staying at a hotel near by, it’s common to offer some type of shuttle or bus service so they don’t need to navigate an unfamiliar city. To save a little, you may consider reusing your limo! Meaning, have a limousine pick up the groom and groomsmen first, drop them off, then circle back to pick up the ladies.

If you have any questions about renting the right transportation for your wedding party’s needs - give us a call at 631-587-8500. Since 1988, Dynasty Limousine has been the ideal choice for brides and grooms in and around the Long Island area. Our massive fleet of limousines, party buses and shuttles will make it easy for everyone from the Bride and Groom to the wedding party and guests to travel in style and comfort!
