Top Five Mother's Day Gifts To Consider This Year

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

While we don't necessarily need an excuse to show our moms some extra love and attention, Mother's Day is a pretty good one - have you started to think about the gift you'll give this year? Yes, flowers and breakfast in bed are always welcome with open arms, but if you want to take things up a notch, here are the top five gifts we recommend:
  1. Wine Tour: There's no doubt in our mind that Long Island moms loves wine, so treat yours to a day at the vineyard! What better way to bond with mom than by relaxing out on Long Island's east end with a delicious drink in hand? Leave the planning to us and we'll ensure she has a great time.
  2. Weekend Getaway: Let's face it, moms are some of the busiest people out there, and all too often, they can't seem to catch break. So, knowing just how hard they work each and every day, consider either taking or sending mom on a weekend getaway! You can turn this into a family vacation or plan a weekend where mom gets to spend some time with her girlfriends - either way, we know some time away from home could definitely do her good.
  3. Spa Day: Nothing's better than a little R&R! Between a fresh mani/pedi and a massage, you can have mom feeling better than ever in no time! While you're at it, you can even treat yourself to some R&R too by making an appointment for the both of you.
  4. Dinner Date: If mom is primarily the one cooking at home, give her the night off and take her into town to her favorite restaurant. Just be sure to make your reservations in advance to ensure that a table is waiting for you upon your arrival.
  5. Time: Possibly one of the best gifts a mom can receive is time. Between household chores and running errands alone, moms often have very little time to themselves to do the things that THEY want. With that said, offer to lend a helping hand so that mom can use her time the way she wants to, not necessarily the way she has to.
No matter what you choose to give mom this year, if any of your plans require travel arrangements, know that Dynasty Limo has you covered. From Towncars to stretch Cadillac Escalades, we have a transportation solution that can get mom to and from her destination safely so that she can enjoy her special day without having to worry about how she'll get around. To reserve your car with us, please call (631) 587-8500 today.

Trending News: Will LI Wine Tours as We Know Them Soon Come to an End?

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

It goes without saying that wine tours are a popular Long Island outing - but latest news from the East End explains the nature of a day at the vineyard may soon change.

Members of the Long Island Wine Council announced in Tuesday’s Southold Town Board work session that they are working to shift the focus of the North Fork wine business away from the party centric, live music atmosphere and toward the quality of wines grown. Meaning? Goodbye party bus crowds and hello wine connoisseurs.

According to the East End Beacon:
“One of the biggest problems is music is not profitable,” said Long Island Wine Council Executive Director Steve Bate. “You have people sitting around for a whole afternoon sipping one glass of wine to listen to music, and they’re not actually taking the wine home with them.”
“We want to go after a different customer, one that is more interested in the product than in live music,” said Mr. Bate.

The Wine Council has begun a complete overhaul of the region’s branding strategies, creating a new website to focus on what goes into the making of award-winning North Fork wines and their winemakers. Wineries will also undergo a two-day training to help them redefine how wine is sold, pour no more than an ounce, and set a minimum standard for purchases when people spend all day at a tasting room.
“Customers should expect to invest when they come out here, not be looking for a deal. We want to make sure tasting room fees are not waived unless there is a significant investment.”
Read even more details here via Patch. What are your thoughts about this new initiative? Share your views on our Facebook page.

Given this will take time to see the shift take place, it’s certainly something to consider when heading to the wineries in the future. In the interim, connect with our expert wine tour representatives to create the perfect Vineyard Tour Package to suit your needs. #TravelThursday - Airport Security Tips

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500
If you haven’t flown recently or plan to, this news may not be on your radar. For those of us who have, we’re no stranger to recent TSA problems. Airports nationwide have seen security checkpoint lines double in size, with some waits lasting up to 90 minutes.

Security lines have become so problematic - with many travelers missing flights - that airlines are sending emails to upcoming travelers urging them to arrive extra early:
Why is this happening you ask? Seems a number of factors come into play including an increase in passengers, far fewer Americans signing up for TSA PreCheck, and far fewer TSA screeners available to handle the crowds.

Knowing peak travel season is upon us, you’ll want to be prepared for security and help move the line through quickly.  Here are our top tips to help you do so:

1. Follow the 3.4 ounces rule. Passengers are not allowed to bring liquids, gels, or gooey substances that are more than 3.4 ounces in a carry on onto the plane. Seriously, don’t even try it. Either stow larger items in your checked bags or dispose of them before arriving to the checkpoint.

2. And bag them up. Have you forgotten to remove your 3.4 ounce liquids before? Likely. But don’t think you can get by like this each time (unless you have TSA PreCheck). Make sure you put all liquid items in a zip lock bag that you can remove from your carry on to be screened separately for easy inspection.

3. Know what is prohibited. Sharp objects, firearms, fuels, tools longer than seven inches in length. For a full list of TSA prohibited items, visit their website here. Remember, even if an item is generally permitted, it may be subject to additional screening or not allowed through the checkpoint if it poses security concerns.

4. Remove electronics and other materials. Remove any laptop computers, video camera, DVD players, etc. from your carry on and place separately into a bin. Your iPads and cellphones are fine in your bags. Then remember to remove any other triggers - keys, watches, coins, belts, costume jewelry, etc. For those traveling with children, your strollers and car seats must pass through the x-ray as well, so be prepared to fold them up.

5. Not all carry ons are created equal. Unfortunately, there is no one size fits all in the carry on luggage world. A bag that says it’s carry on size, does not always equal the size permitted on certain airlines. Check your carrier’s website or call customer service to learn about the specific dimensions you’re allowed to bring. If your bag is too large for that airline or if the overhead space is full - your bag will need to be checked by the flight crew (hopefully you have no breakables or necessities inside)

With all this in mind, needing to arrive early to ensure you make it to your gate on time is of utmost important. That's where we come in. We are available for pickups and drop offs at all of the major New York Airports including, JFK, La Guardia, Mac Arthur Airport and for most private airports including Farmingdale Executive Airport. We'll take care of getting you there on time for departure! Call and request a quote: (631) 587-8500

Wedding Wednesday: 5 Things A Bride Needs on Her Wedding Day

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500
Soon-to-be brides listen up - when it comes to the big day, you may think you have everything under control: you’ve triple checked your floral arrangements, followed up with your photographer, and have Dynasty Limousine on speed dial. But aside from the obvious, there are a few important details often missed.

Here are a few things a bride may not realize she needs on her wedding day:

Food for the bridal party. Too many brides have made this mistake! Don’t forget to not only feed yourselves but your bridal party as well. Be sure to pre-arrange some snacks and meals to hold over hangry bellies until the reception.

Beauty appointments for everyone.
While there’s no set rule for this, if you’d prefer to have your bridesmaids get their hair and makeup professionally done, then it is a nice gesture to offer to foot the bill. Consider this as your bridesmaids’ gift or consider making it optional. Just be sure to explain the options to your bridal party.

Some alone time. From the moment you wake up till the moment you say “I do” - your time is limited. Of course you’ll want to celebrate your big day surrounded by the people who love you most, but some alone time may be necessary. Avoid feeling emotionally overwhelmed and make sure you have some down time scheduled into your itinerary as well.

Some alone time, with your new husband.
A short break between the ceremony/photographs and reception may be just what you need. Enjoy your moment together, freshen up, and get ready to make the grand entrance as husband and wife.

A plan for toasts. Because no one wants to sit through an evening of speeches - or worse, roasts! Make arrangements with your MC or wedding planner prior to the reception to keep wedding toasts controlled.

Dynasty Limousine has been the ideal choice for brides and groom in and around the Long Island area because we combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers. If you have any questions about renting the right transportation for your wedding party’s needs - give us a call at 631-587-8500
