Winter Wedding Party Gift Ideas

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
Your groomsmen and bridesmaids will be standing by your side on one of the biggest days of your life - you should thank them, no? Traditionally, the bridal party receives a small gift from the bride and groom as a symbol of their appreciation for their help on your big day.

So if you're planning to tie the knot this winter and are still in need of some gift ideas for your wedding party - we’ve got you covered.

Winter Accessories
Gloves, hat, scarf - gift them all three! These accessories are a necessary staple in anyone’s closet, west to east coast. Consider buying faux fur shawls for the bridal party - a beautiful and practical addition to any outdoor wedding photos.

Engraved Whiskey
Everyone looks to drink seasonally and what better way to enjoy the winter months than warming up with a glass of whiskey? Choose your favorite brand and create a personalized bottle by engraving something special. Pro tip: This doesn't have to just be for the groomsmen, the ladies will love this too!

Engraved Wine Glasses & Flasks
Continuing in the spirits realm, everyone needs something to put their drink in. Personalizing a wine glass or a flask turns a seemingly simple gift into a treasured keepsake. Pair with their favorite liquor or wine!

Monogrammed Hoodies
Create and personalize a zip up or pullover for your party to throw on at the end of the night (or to wear as the gals are getting their hair done!). Individualize each one or have them all match.

Shoes
Heels or tight leather dress shoes might pair well with formal attire, but spending an entire night in those shoes can take a toll on your toes. Provide your wedding party with comfortable, yet warm slip on shoes that they can use even after the night is through. Looking for the perfect pair? TOMS has great options and you’ll also donate a pair to a child in need at the same time.

Dynasty Limo is one of the largest and most established limousine companies on Long Island. From stretch limousines to shuttle buses, it's no wonder we've been the ideal choice for brides and grooms in and around LI. If you're looking for transportation for your big day, please visit us on the web or give us a call for more information 631-587-8500.

Packing for a Winter Vacation

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

Florida and the Caribbean may still be top destination spots during the Northeast winter, but not everyone is flying South from the cold this year. Vacationing to Europe over the winter is becoming more and more popular as people embrace the cold weather (and cheaper flights!)

While you may want to bring your parka and every pair of comfy boots you own, most airlines charge for every bag after the first, so your best bet is to pack light - but smart. If you’re planning on braving the cold overseas this season, here are a few winter destination packing tips

Lay on the layers: Between outdoor landmarks during the day and gift shops and restaurants at night, you’re probably going to be in and out quite a bit. Massive down jackets will take up most of the space in your suitcase, leaving you without room for much else - not to mention you’ll probably spend half the time carrying it around while you’re indoors. You’re best bet is to pack one average size jacket and pile on the layers under it.

Basic black: If you’re ever traveling light, the best two pieces you can bring are a black jacket and pair of black pants. Pair pants with a formal shirt and you’re ready to go to a nice restaurant, or throw on a sweatshirt and go sight seeing for the day.

Two pairs only: We’ve all been there - while you’re packing you plan all the shoes you’ll "wear." Some heels (for the ladies), comfy shoes, hiking boots and sneakers of course for when you go to the gym each morning. Then, on day 5, you realize you’ve worn the same shoes every day since you stepped off the plane. We know it’s hard, but if you’re going away for a week, pack realistically. Try to bring no more than two versatile shoes that you can dress up or down depending on where you go.

Accessories: Temperatures in Europe can hit the single digits, so while they may look good, thin scarves and gloves won’t protect you from the rain, snow and wind. Instead, pack a few heavy duty scarves, earmuffs, hats and gloves that will keep you warm and can change up an outfit you’ve already worn.

Know when not to skimp: The few places you should not skimp on when packing are socks, underwear and thermals. One good rainy or snowy day can ruin a few pairs of socks or soak a shirt, so make sure you have two pairs of socks for every day you’re away and an extra warm shirt, just in case.

No matter where your 2016 (or 2017) travel plans take you, Dynasty Limousine will be there to handle your transportation needs. We offer competitive rates for Airport and Ground Transportation in the New York area. Call and request a quote today (631) 587-8500!

Cue Andy Williams - it’s officially the most, wonderful time of the year.  If you’re not excited yet, we have some ways to help you get into the holiday spirit.

From brightly lit Christmas Trees to ice skating and holiday shopping galore - gather some friends, family, and Dynasty Limousine for a day or evening around the city this holiday season.
NYC Transportation | NYC Car Service

Check out Rockefeller Plaza: The annual Christmas Tree lighting will take place this Wednesday, November 30th at Rockefeller Plaza. Attending the event is free and open to the public, but it’s on a first-come, first-served basis. AKA - there will be crowds, there will be chaos. If you’d prefer to skip the excitement, watch from the comfort of your own home on NBC from 7p - 9p then head in to see the tree any day prior to January 7th.

But the tree isn’t the only attraction at Rockefeller - skating at The Rink at Rockefeller is a New York City tradition. Again, general admission skating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Head to the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park: Christmas tree, plus ice skating, plus food and holiday shopping? Win, win, win! Experience the Tree Lighting Skate-tacular this Friday at 6pm staring internationally acclaimed figure skaters performing to live Christmas music played by NYC big band, Lapis Luna. After the tree is lit, the rink will open again to the public with an additional hour-long concert of holiday favorites!

Aside from this Friday’s event - take advantage of free ice skating and holiday shopping happening all season long. Ice skating is free if your BYO-Skate, otherwise you can rent a pair for $20 for use (helmet, bag check, lock purchase, socks, and more are also available for a price). Then be sure to check out the European inspired open-air Holiday Market featuring food and artisans from around the world!

Grab a bite at Rolf’s Restaurant: TimeOut said it best - “Rolf’s is what we imagine the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree to feel like on the inside.” With hundreds of ornaments coupled with sparkling lights, this German restaurant is the it place during the holiday season (seriously, you can watch the line form out the door!). Call and place a reservation today!

Plan an unforgettable trip to New York City this holiday season without the headache driving and public transportation may cause. Sit back and relax, while Dynasty Limousine takes you around the big apple. Call us today (631) 587-8500!

Last Minute Thanksgiving Airport Travel Tips

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
Thanksgiving Eve, not only a popular party night but also one of the busiest travel days of the year. This year, Airlines for America estimates 2.55 million US airline passengers will be taking flight in preparation for tomorrow’s holiday.

If you’re one of today’s last minute airline travelers, here’s what you need to know before you go.

Allow for extra time.
“Due to the increased number of travelers during the upcoming holiday, allow extra time for check-in and security at LGA Airport.” As per LaGuardia’s website, be sure to arrive at least 2 hours prior to your departure time when flying within the US. The same holds true for all New York Airports - an influx of people can result in longer security lines. You don’t want to miss your flight before your favorite feast of the year do you?

Stay connected.
Pro tip: Follow your airline and airport on social media for real time updates! Twitter and other airline specific apps play a huge role in helping customers stay in the know about delays or flight changes. Before you even leave for the airport, take a look at any and all social channels and sign up for Port Authority Airline Alerts to your phone or email, here.

Find out when TSA Pre✓® lanes are available.

Are you registered with TSA Pre✓®? Find out when lanes are available by clicking here. If a lane is not available during your selected time, show your TSA Pre✓® boarding pass to receive expedited screening in a standard lane.

Know what’s available to you.
From dining options to phone charging stations, take a look at what each airport has available for travelers. For those departing from LaGuardia click here and John F. Kennedy click here. If departing from another airport - check out that location’s airport guide!
Don't forget to book your airport transportation with Dynasty Limousine. We handle pick ups and drop offs at all major New York Airports including LaGuardia, JFK, MacArthur as well as most private airports like Farmingdale Executive Airport. Call and request a quote today: 631-587-8500!

#TravelThursday - Tips for Business Travel

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500
There’s much more stress than meets the eye of business travelers you see in the airport - dressed in suits, armed with briefcases, traveling for business can be a job in itself. With Millennials twice as likely to seek business trips than the previous Baby Boomer generation, business travelers are on the rise.

Does your job require you to work on the road? Whether you are a beginner or a pro, these tips will help you the next time you need to travel for business.

Use Technology and Plan Ahead
Technology doesn’t just help you view the latest tweet or most liked Instagram picture. You can count on travel apps to help before, during, and after your flight. You can view your airplane's seating plan in advance or book a table at your favorite restaurant for when you land. Lost your hotel room key? There’s an app for that too!

Limit Your Luggage
Travel is stressful enough - add the chance of losing your luggage when you have a strict schedule to follow, and it’s even worse. Try limiting your luggage to only a carry-on but do make note of your airline’s carry on requirements. For example, if you use an oversized carry on (especially on a full flight), spoiler alert - they may still make you check it. As such, pack only what you need and wear any bulky clothing onboard.

Join a Rewards Program
If you frequently use the same airport, rental-car company, or hotel, the staff members are more likely to help you and give you a more high end treatment. Maximize your points with each service and you may receive some small perks, if available. This can include, early boarding, priority hotel room, and some first-class upgrades. The higher the level you reach, the more rewards you earn.

Stop The Germs
Who wants to get sick before a big presentation or meeting? Germs have no escape on an airplane, but if you are prepared, you can stop the germs cold (pun intended). Carry on a small bottle of hand sanitizer and a tube of Bacitracin. Put a small amount of the Bacitracin on your finger tip and coat the inside of both nostrils - doctor’s recommend this to ward off any potential germs in the air. Use the hand sanitizer to always keep your hands clean.

Hire a Car Service
Whether you are traveling for business or a client is traveling to you, car service is essential. Hiring transportation will help you or your client get to your location in a quick and timely fashion. Let the driver concentrate on the road while you finish up e-mails, phone calls, or any other work that needs to be done. Need a car service that’s available for pickups and dropoffs across Long Island and at all major New York airports? Call Dynasty Limousine.

Dynasty Limousine will provide you with a luxurious experience, no matter where you’re going. Leave your airport and corporate transport to us - we understand our clients desire to relax and enjoy their travel. Call and request a quote today (631) 587-8500!

A New York City Themed Sweet 16

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

Looking to throw your teen an unforgettable sweet 16, but not sure what to do? Before you spend all of your time and money looking for a venue, finding a caterer, and shopping for a dress, may we offer an alternative? Instead of a three hour party, give your teen a truly unforgettable day traveling around New York City in style.

Do a group outing.

New York Skyride at the Empire State Building: With a 36 ft high screen and moving floor and chairs, this virtual tour of New York City is sure to leave even native New Yorkers in awe. Feel as if you’re flying over 36 famous New York spots, including famous moments in history, restaurants and film scenes.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum: Famous for their lifelike celebrity wax statues, the museum lets you get up close and take pictures with your favorite stars, like Leonardo Dicaprio, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Barack Obama and Beyonce.

Go out to dinner.

Barrio Chino: Any Gossip Girl fan’s out there? To some, Barrio Chino’s might just be a great place to get Mexican and Asian inspired food, but TV lovers may also rejoice at the fact that Serena and Blair's Thanksgiving dinner was filmed here on location.

Jeckyll and Hyde: Any teen with a sense of humor and love of horror movies will love the non stop attractions at Jeckyll and Hyde. With Frankenstein’s monster falling from the ceiling, a crude gargoyle and old fashioned butlers running around there’s no shortage of excitement here.

Ellen's Stardust Diner: Go back in time with the singing wait staff of Ellen’s Stardust Diner! Known for their 50s decor, vocal servers and seemingly never ending list of American classics, the Stardust Diner will get you out of your seat and ready to boogie.

The Sugar Factory: They may be celebrating their sweet 16, but they’re never too old to feel like a kid in a candy shop. The sugar factory truly lives up to it’s name, with everything from waffles covered in chocolate syrup and whipped cream, to milkshakes topped with whole cookies and candy bars. With locations in Times Square Row Hotel, The Meatpacking District, and the Upper West Side, you’ll always be just steps away from any and every sugary dessert you may want.

See a show.

Wicked: In 13 years on broadway, Wicked has become a fan favorite among teens. But luckily for you, this big budget production doesn’t come for a big cost - mezzanine tickets often go for as little as $40 a seat.

The Lion King: With a set and costumes that have been said to make you feel “like you’re on the plains of Africa,” you won’t want to miss this childhood favorite come to life on stage.

Madison Square Garden: Home to Z100’s upcoming Jingle Ball and popular stop for countless other singers and sports teams over the years, you’ll have no problem finding your child’s favorite performer or team playing at MSG.

Whether you plan to bring a small, intimate party or a larger group into the city to celebrate - Dynasty Limousine has a vehicle to meet your needs. We offer stretch limos and Cadillac Escalades as well as stylish, modern Party Buses. Your group will enjoy the convenience of traveling together and having the excitement begin when they leave the driveway.
