#WeddingWednesday - When to Book Your Vendors (Part 2)

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

So... you’ve hired your wedding planner, put a deposit down on a venue, booked a caterer and secured your ceremony officiant.  What’s next? See below to learn about all of the vendors that you should be focusing on booking in the next planning phase, 6-10 months before your wedding.

Entertainment - DJs, videographers, photographers, live bands, professional electric sliders, whoever you choose to hire for entertainment at your wedding, should be booked on the earlier end of the 6-10 month range. This will help to ensure that you will have variety in your options, and will give you a better chance at booking your top choice.  Since great entertainment is at the core of every successful wedding, vendors tend to book up quickly.

Invitations - Although invitations are not necessary more than 6 months in advance, you should alert your guests of your wedding with a ‘save the date’ upon securing your venue.  That way, they will have plenty of time to pencil your big moment into their busy schedules.

Florist - Since florists are typically used to handling a few weddings at a time, you’d be safe to book on the lower end of the 6-10 month timetable.  However, take into account the size and popularity of the shop.  Shops that are on the smaller scale or those that are more popular will sell out faster, especially if your wedding is planned during their busy season.  If you have your heart set on a specific florist, try to put a deposit down as soon as you can.

Cake Baker - Similar to florists, bakeries are used to dealing with multiple cake orders at a time, so ordering within this timeframe should be perfect.  Be sure to visit as many bakeries as possible and sample, sample, sample!  That way, you can find the perfect cake flavor and design for your special day.

Transportation - If you're getting married in the spring during prom season, or want something unique by way of transportation, you may want to move this to the task up on the timeline.  Transportation is so important on your big day, because without the ride there is no bride!  Make sure to book your transportation at least 6 months in advance, to ensure that you can secure the best in the business - like your friends here at Dynasty Limousine!

While we may not be able to help with your invitations or florist, we are your one stop shop for all your transportation and wedding attire needs. Located just next door is our Village Bridal & Boutique offering a large selection of wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and tuxedo rentals.

Dynasty Limousine has been the ideal choice for brides and groom in and around the Long Island area because we combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers. Plan a Golf Outing on Long Island

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

P: (631) 587-8500

With 145 public and private courses from Montauk to Manhasset, Long Island is a golfers paradise; home to some of the oldest, challenging and most scenic places to play in the nation. So whether you're in it for the scenery or the challenge, here are a few tracks you wont want to skip out on this summer:

Bethpage Black Course - You’ve seen the best players in the world play it, now it’s your chance. Most US Open courses aren’t open to the public, but this one is and for a more than reasonable price! The last 4 holes consist of one of the best finishing stretches you’ll find anywhere. And then of course there’s the famous sign - proclaiming just how difficult the course is.

Bethpage Red Course - A great layout and always in good shape, if you’re making the trip to Bethpage State Park you can’t go wrong with either course. There is no more difficult opening hole on LI than here, an uphill 460-yard par-4 that even low handicappers struggle to reach in regulation. This one may not be as famed as its older sister, but it shouldn't be overlooked.

Willow Creek - Located in Mt. Sinai, Willow Creek may be one of LI’s hidden gems. This semi-private track known for its 16th hole holds a course rating of 72.9 and plays 6,611 yards from the black tees.

Tallgrass Country Club - One of the most aptly named courses, you’ll find thick fescue grasses around the layout. When the wind strikes, which happens often on the North Shore, some of the holes can be virtually unplayable. But very often, the back nine will play easier than the front nine.

Lido Golf Club - A picturesque and challenging seaside links course features some elevated greens guarded by massive bunkers, significant water hazards, and what some consider the toughest stretch after the turn of any course on the Island. The left fairway is best for a lay up, the right fairway is riskier but holds better opportunities for birdie or eagle.

If you’re planning a golf outing or tournament, let Dynasty Limousine worry about your transportation so you can focus on what matters most - your swing! We can arrange to drop you and your group off at your desired course and bring you home. We have a variety of vehicles in our fleet to accommodate clubs and your group’s size.

#WeddingWednesday - When to Book Your Vendors (Part 1)

Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service
P: (631) 587-8500

We know planning a wedding includes a lot of moving parts, so where and when does one begin? Take a deep breath, we’re here to help.

This Wedding Wednesday we’ll focus on some of the FIRST things you should secure before moving further down your wedding planning checklist. See below for vendors to book 9-12 months prior to your wedding:

Wedding Planner - If you plan to hire a wedding planner, make it one of your first to dos. A wedding planner will have the greatest amount of utility to you and can help you with the rest of your purchases.

Venue - Reception venues can book up to two years in advance of a popular date. This, along with your planner if you decide should be the first things you check off your checklist. Remember, without putting a deposit down on a venue, your wedding date is not yet set in stone - and you can’t hire the rest of your wedding-related services.

Caterer - Unless catering is included at your reception venue, you’ll want to get this taken care of once the reception site is booked! Caterers have a limited number of parties and events they can do on given dates so booking early locks in your spot.

Ceremony Officiant - A really good officiant can give you the ceremony of your dreams and since this is a specific person, you’ll want to get them booked early. We’ve all seen great, and not so great, ceremonies - make sure yours doesn’t fall into the latter.

Have some other vendors you feel should be included in the 9-12 month slot? Share with us on our Facebook page. Stay tuned for Part 2 next week - and keep an eye out for the Transportation section.

Dynasty Limousine has been the ideal choice for brides and groom in and around the Long Island area because we combine an impressive fleet of immaculately kept luxury vehicles with professional and experienced drivers. Long Island's Premiere Limousine Service

Suds lovers rejoice - it’s National Beer Day! According to the knower of all things, the Internet, National Beer Day began on April 7, 1933 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt took the first step toward ending Prohibition. For the first time in 13 years, people were allowed to buy and sell beer - so long as it had lass than 4% alcohol by volume.

If you’re looking to join in on celebrating the glories of beer - what better way than to sample some local Long Island brews!
BrickHouse Brewery - 67 W. Main St., Patchogue
With 10 beers on tap at any given time, you'll find selections including bigger, nuanced Belgian ales, such as the Nitro Boom Stout. Food-friendly beers count hoppy Beowulf IPA, BrickHouse Red, Street Light blond and Dr. Dunkelweisse wheat beer.

Great South Bay Brewery -  25 Drexel Drive, Bay Shore
A microbrewery with a tasting room. Great South Bay’s repertoire includes: Blonde Ambition, Blood Orange Pale Ale, Hopsy Dazy, Massive, and more.

Barrage Brewing Company - 32 Allen Blvd., Unit E, East Farmingdale
Barrage started in the garage of its founder and head brewer, Steve Pominski. His brews take in Citralization IPA, a hoppy pale ale; ultra-hoppy Galaxy Beast; Famous Last Words Russian Imperial Stout; McLaughlin's Folly oatmeal-raisin-vanilla stout, and Yada Yada Yada, a brown ale with Snickers candy bars in the mix.

Oyster Bay Brewing Co. - 76 South St., Oyster Bay
Microbrewery producing unconventional ales and lagers with a focus on quality ingredients and rich taste. Specialties include Honey Ale, IPA, Barn Rocker, Pumpkin Brew and other seasonal offerings. Among their creations is a brew that has a definite sense of community: oyster stout, which was made with 300 pounds of oysters in the recipe.
