As the holidays grow closer and closer with each passing day, it becomes essential to finalize your travel plans. Traveling during the holiday season is a stressful feat. Packing the children's suitcases, gathering snacks for the flight, remembering the tickets and getting out the door on time is enough to stress even the most organized family. To help make the day of travel less hectic, check out these tips:
- Pack the night before. And I don't mean wait until 11:00p.m. to begin deciding what clothes you will bring. Make it a family affair! Immediately after dinner everyone should report to their bedrooms and start to pack the clothes they anticipate wearing. Then move along to your toiletries. Before going to bed, everyone should place their suitcase near the door so that it is ready to go the next day.
- Prepare snacks ahead of time. Snacks are essential when traveling, especially when traveling with children. Who wants to overspend on airport food when you have a perfectly good pantry full of everyone's favorites? The day before your departure, pack zip-lock bags with pretzels, chips, fruit snacks or sliced vegetables. Pack a small food bag that you can carry onto the plane and voila, easy as that!
- Set aside your travel clothes. Decide what you would like to wear on the flight and set it aside before you go to sleep. This cuts down the time it will take you to get ready in the morning.
- Travel games. In the event that your flight is delayed, it is always a good idea to have games on hand. This will keep you and the kids busy and help to distract you from aggravation. A deck of cards is a fan favorite.
- Call a car service. Dynasty Limo will arrive at your front door promptly and deliver you to your destination, stress free.
