On your mark, get set, SHOW! Summertime is just about here in New York City and along with it comes some of the best live music events one could ask for. From Governors Ball to NYC’s first country-music festival, everyone is heading into the city this summer season.
Here’s a glimpse of what the Tri-State area has in store:
JBL Live at Pier 97
Pier 97 // Saturday May 23rd - Tuesday August 18th
Hudson River Park has partnered with Live Nation to bring NYC as many of the biggest touring acts on the road this summer. Taking place on the all-new Pier 97, these ticketed shows are benefits for the park. Look forward to performances from Third Eye Blind, Barenaked Ladies, Meghan Trainor, and Sublime with Rome.
Central Park SummerStage
Central Park // Monday May 18th - Thursday September 24th
SummerStage, an outdoor festival of the arts has just begun its annual residency at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Performances are mostly free, with the exception of a few big name benefit concerts that help to fund the free SummerStage programming. Some artists featured on this year’s performance schedule: Linsey Stirling, The Kooks, Ingrid Michaelson, Killswitch Engage, and Milky Chance.
Governors Ball Music Festival
Randalls Island Park // Friday June 5th - Sunday June 7th
From headliners Drake, the Black Keys, and Deadmau5 to fan favs Florence and the Machine, Ryan Adams, and My Morning Jacket - Governors Ball will be returning for its 5th year at Randalls Island (pray for no rain).
FarmBorough Country Music Festival
Randalls Island Park // Friday June 26th - Sunday June 28th
NYC’s first country-music festival is setting up camp next month at Randalls Island. Prepare for three days of “whiskey-drenched ditties about pickup trucks and heartbreak from top-flight acts like Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley.”
Taylor Swift + Vance Joy + HAIM + Shawn Mendes
MetLife Stadium // Friday July 10th - Saturday July 11th
T. Swift is returning to MetLife Stadium this summer for her 1989 World Tour with special guests Vance Joy, HAIM, and Shawn Mendes for not one but TWO performances. Get ready to “Shake It Off,” people.

Madison Square Garden // Saturday July 18th - Friday July 31st
The Irish rock import has begun its iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE World Tour and will continue performing around North America through the end of July, culminating with eight consecutive shows at MSG in New York City.
